Darn interventionist judiciary, bringing gov't involvement into business. They're tilting the playing field, making it more difficult for some business to succeed. When was the last time the gov't intervention ever benefited a company? They should stick to what they know and keep their noses out of the marketplace.

Even in art history (yeah, yeah, I'm an art school drop out who fixes Macs. Bite me!), the best teacher was the one that required us to sketch out each piece of art he talked about. He wasn't looking for drawing skill (was first year class) but required us to turn in our notes towards the end of the semester. You got marked down if you didn't have something down for each piece of art. Pretty good way to keep the students involved with the lecture. Also, 20 years later, is kinda' cool going back through that note book. Good gesture practice as well.

Yup. Most rich folks (>$1M worth?) have earned it themselves. You have to have a bit on the ball to make out ahead of average. Besides smarts, you also need drive and people skills. Luck and connections also help

A college buddy of mine is a good example. I was in MIS and he got his degree in construction management. 30 years later, he's now running his own company and is on the board of a local bank. It helps that he's a math wiz and is also very personable. He can get along with drunk construction workers and black tie socialites and seems to have a good time with both.

As for myself, I'm your typical anti-social geek with no people skills and so I'm stilling in a back room remoting in to computers all day long, fixing stuff. Meanwhile, he still calls me for tech help and recommendations. Of course, I'm a lot more laid back (lazy?) than he is so that could be part of it as well.

Yes! Bob Lassiter (radio commentator in 80's-90's) went on and on about how all the regular cultural divisive stuff (gun, abortion, etc) was just used to keep the electorate distracted while the rich consolidated their kleptocratic hold on the world. The rich (the real rich, that you don't really hear about) don't care what y'all think about such things, as long as the little folks keep toiling away producing money for them.

There's no left-right axis to anything. That's just an artificial gauge set up in the French revolution as a way of targeting folks for 'wealth transfer'.
