If you've ever had to support a product that had a major UI change, you would understand that it really pisses people off.
You're not wrong.. I'm always dumbfounded to hear IE users lament that Firefox is "so different". Jeez people, it's got the same basic functions (Forward/Back/Reload/Stop/Home, address bar), just like IE.. what, they can't handle the icons being different?! Ah, users..
I applied for a position at a certain Chicago-based arcade game/console game/pinball manufacturer (that should narrow it down, eh?) and they had the temerity to ask me to sign NDA's, sign over your life's work, etc forms before I even got an interview! Needless to say I made some changes to the documents before turning them in.. it probably hurt my chances, but I like to think it may help make them reconsider being such jerks.
Sorry, I have to nitpick something in your post, mainly because I see a lot of people making this mistake. You may recall that DWI has been supplanted by DUI? Many people assume they are the same but they are most assuredly not.
DWI = Driving While Intoxicated
DUI = Driving Under the Influence
Now, "DWI" had a clear definition, ie drunk driving. However, "DUI" is intentionally vague.
Under the influence of what?
What does "under the influence" mean?
Tipsy? Angry? Sleepy? Emotional?
Answer: it means anything they want it to mean. The ministry of truth would be proud.
Sigh.. why have we allowed our carefully constucted system of checks and balances to be perveted by the inclusion of riders? This ability to force passage of "pet" bills does not befit democracy.
Obviously, they used lzip, the most advanced file compression utility ever conceived! (note: files compressed with lzip cannot be restored to their original state) Ah, now the IBM strategy becomes clear..
Although I can't imagine General Grievous slicing bagels with his lightsaber, Anakin, with the cavalier attitude towards using the Force he showed in Episode II, probably did.
Now that would be amusing. But don't tell me I'm the only one who was disappointed when Padme helped Jar-Jar get his appendage out of the pod-racer's engine (back in Ep1)?
You can easily run IE (and lots of other stuff) with Codeweavers Wine. Of course, there's not much point since Konqueror/Firefox/Opera pretty much all blow IE out of the water. (Although it can be handy for cross-browser testing.)
Could be the name scares people away. "Christian Science Monitor" sounds like an Inquisition-era group tasked with monitoring scientific progress for heresies.
I'm not going to waste my time arguing with you. Equality is a process, not a binary switch. Things are better than they were 50 years ago. Not perfect, but at least people aren't getting killed because of their race or sexual orientation. At least, not as often. But in case you haven't noticed, there are a fair number of bigots who would love nothing better than to turn the clock back.
(And for the record, Alan Keyes is a nutcase. I proudly voted for Barak Obama in the last election.)
In America, yes. Anyone that thinks otherwise has no understanding of what real inequality looks like
Oh, really? How many female presidents have we had? How many non-white presidents? How about the governor of New Jersery, who was forced to abdicate because he was gay?
In Billy's system, what is the value of 458 + YF?
Mu.

Always two there are, a Master and an Apprentice.
Won't someone think of the children!

Pervy Hobbit fanciers. Me, I'm holding out to see Gandalf's pointy hat trick..

According to Vader's blog, Palpatine used Mace Windu's lightsaber to trim his hedges. Though I would expect no less from someone like that.
Rumor has it that's only for Sith lightsabers. For the light side, you have to ssh in and edit a text file..
Now that would be amusing. But don't tell me I'm the only one who was disappointed when Padme helped Jar-Jar get his appendage out of the pod-racer's engine (back in Ep1)?
Come to think of it, he does wield a purple lightsaber. Hmmm..

Ditto. Was wondering what was so noteworthy about a contortionist who happened to be online..

/just saying..

What about the recently-announced TV series?
(Ironically, there's a SW Ep 3 banner on the comment page as I write this.)
The Mac has native versions of Enemy Territory, Nethack, and Armagetron, which is good enough for me.
Either that or we should start installing nuclear reactors in computers!
That would give a whole new meaning to "atomic transactions"..
Agreed. I like to pretend the series ended with book four, Mostly Harmless was way too dark for my tastes.
Humans must be protected.
Do you have stairs in your house?
We are the space robots.
That's what I love about God.. he's so deliciously evil!
Let me guess, it did a format on the c drive? Darn smart-assed garbage collection routines..
