Why are we so quick to accept that the speed of light is the maximum possible velocity? Not that long ago it would have seemed absurd that man could exceed the speed of sound..
Funny you should mention that. When I was a child, I tried putting a rope under my feet and lifting it with my arms. But for some reason, I was unable to get off the ground..;)
It's my understanding that the market expects companies to not only meet but exceed expectations. To actually fail to meet expectations, even slightly, makes investors take notice.
Wow, I didn't know Rush Limbaugh read Slashdot. Talk about cluelessness. The Nazi's were not socialist. In fact, part of their rise to power was because they were rabidly anti-communist! Sound familiar?
I almost wish there were such a thing as hell, so these religious busybodies could wake up there and realize causing trouble for people is not a life well spent. Eh, guess they'll have to settle for reincarnation as lower life forms.;)
But the religious right are behind a key part of the bill that makes it ok to release "edits" for movies regardless of what they do to those movies without either the consent of the artist, or at least honouring the artist by allowing them to have their names removed from the edited work.
Hasn't Blockbuster been doing this for years? (Which is just one of the reasons I don't shop there anymore)
When I moved up to 768MB I found I still had 50% free after startup.
That's because memory management sucks ass in Windows. The more RAM you have, the more of it gets used for caching. What, you were going to use it for applications? Silly user..;)
(to be fair I think there is a setting somewhere which allows you to take control of memory usage)

You cannot travel in time because there is no such thing.
I beg to differ. I time travel every day. So do you. However, our time travel moves at a constant pace and only in one direction.

My company has standardized on AIM. It's a critical tool for the business, as much as the telephone or e-mail.
Q: What's so scary about Einstein's ghost?
A: Physics are scary enough without being taught by a dead guy..
Was that from the Redneck Dictionary?

Perhaps the rover is going backwards?
So if this rate of wiretaps continue, how long until 100% of the population is under surveillance?
Paging Big Brother..

I would say it's more like 85% going to 83%, but obviously it depends on the site..
Not that there's anything wrong with that..
The rest prefer skim milk
Ta-dum.. :splash:
It's fun for the whole family!*
* For definitions of "fun" which are applicable to federal incarceration.

You can skip them, you just need the right player. Mplayer works well for me..

If one doesn't understand binary, they are no programmer.. so I there's only one type. :)
I can't believe that made it past the lameness filter, bravo!
My preferred solution:
And a metamod system to deal with the inevitable poor moderation. Hmm, Slashcode as a source control system? Scary thought..

The default setting in Opera is to pretend to be MSIE6.0
He also created the best special effects company in the movie business.
I'm confused, Lucas didn't have anything to do with WETA?
(I kid)
Wait.. are you saying you can get support from MS now?
