Extended battery life? My GBA-SP lasts weeks between charges (Granted, I don't play it every day). Still, I find it hard to consider buying a gaming portable that relies on rotational media which inherently draws *much* more power than solid state media. 3D graphic capability is nice, but battery life is king when it comes to portables.

They tried that. When I was a lad, BASIC (Beginner's All-purpose Symbolic Instruction Code) was the "teaching" language that was meant for the classroom. Since large numbers of students became familiar with the language, some foolish people decided to use it for actual work. We've been suffering from the fallout ever since.

It was like teaching people to drive with go-karts, then trying to haul freight with go-karts since so many people knew how to drive them..

But in the big picture, it's not that big a deal, really.

Why would the permissions not be set properly? By default, most distros create secure user accounts, with /home/user owned by user:user and set to drwx------ permission. If I tried to list Bob's files, like so:

The result would be a swift:

    ls: /home/bob Permission denied

Of course, it goes without saying that root can read anyone's files..
