The entire article is flamebait as it stands. 10 years is the maximum you can get. And our judicial system is built around the judge deciding the punishments anyway. So you might have 10 years on the books, and end up with them having a S/C(summery conviction) style sentence applied. 30days-weekends, 2 years less a day(no federal time served), community service.
I already mentioned this in another post but 351 does NOT cover wearing a mask/ect while committing an I/O. Full text of course:
351. (1) Every one who, without lawful excuse, the proof of which lies on them, has in their possession any instrument suitable for the purpose of breaking into any place, motor vehicle, vault or safe under circumstances that give rise to a reasonable inference that the instrument has been used or is or was intended to be used for such a purpose,
(a) is guilty of an indictable offence and liable to imprisonment for a term not exceeding ten years; or
(b) is guilty of an offence punishable on summary conviction.
Marginal note:Disguise with intent
(2) Every one who, with intent to commit an indictable offence, has his face masked or coloured or is otherwise disguised is guilty of an indictable offence and liable to imprisonment for a term not exceeding ten years.
CC 351(2) only covers S.351 that's it. Meh typical CBC tripe and garbage, can't even be bothered to ask someone from the legal dept. to check to make sure that their understanding of the law is correct. Let alone call the upper canada law society, they give out advice on this stuff for free!
Sadly I don't think the author understand that 351 of the CC is for B&E's aka entering a dwelling house(home), vehicle, etc, etc, etc. 351 does NOT cover wearing a disguise while committing a I/O. It only covers it in s.351.

What this law would deal with is the same as what Quebec passed about 10 years ago to deal with black-block and anarchists, and other shit rats who like to hide their faces and smash property, businesses and all the rest. Protest all you want. But if you riot, your ass is going to be nailed for that and trying to hide. It would be so much easier if they simply started using the riot act again.
the USA literally has 10 times the population that canada does.
Paper trails are good, the mechanical systems that NY was using weren't bad either
So what? You add more people to do counting. Unless you believe that your fellow citizens can't be trusted to count. Then again you guys still don't have a voter ID law to cut down on fraud either. ID and/or the ability to identify yourself is a requirement in Canada to vote at any election.
I'm sure someone will come along now and scream that voter ID is racist or some pile of bullshit. I guess that makes all Canadians racist? Nah, it cuts out the vast majority of voter fraud. Especially when backed against a voters list.
The UK has already gone to hell. It's a fine lesson for western countries exactly what can happen when the state run's amok over everything. Anyone who's left simply likes being ground into the dirt by the state. I now work with nearly 150 expats from the UK who've all moved to Canada in the last 3-5 years. The smart ones got out early.
Indeed. Canada's federal elections are all paper ballots and it's very simple. You have a name, a party(now), and you mark in the big circle with an X who you're voting for. We do have electronic voting, but to be honest most people don't like it, and refuse to use it. Paper trails are good.
Saying that Palestinians should not be kept walled into ghettos is not antisemitic
Sure it's not antisemetic, but it's sure the hell not a walled ghetto. The majority of them live better than everyone else in the region unless they're rich, or royalty. And some of them live better than the Israeli's that they keep trying to kill.
So if I build a nice tall fence around your city/town, you'd freely and with pleasure either tolerate it or move away without feeling even the slightest bit forced?
That depends, are you sending women, children and men to try and blow up other other people in cafe's, bus stops, and shopping malls?
The wall did it's job, when was the last time there was a suicide bombing by the palestinians. And in other cases where the palestinians were sniping at israeli civilians again it did it's job, and very well.
Doubtful. You can bet you'll see Asus and Gigabyte having boards out late this year for testing with full releases probably early or mid-next year in time for the new CPU cycle.
Might want to go study up on your history a little bit, remember it was the minority in the pre-days of the soviets who advocated exactly the same thing, which then became the status-quo. But what do I know? I mean it's not like my mother's father didn't spend 25 years in a soviet gulag because he was a Ukrainian farmer who refused to bow down and give everything away at the demands of the state. Oh wait...
Those of us who are chronic migraine(with 4-8 per week) sufferers with photophobia as a trigger can see CFL flicker. Feel free to use your favorite search engine to look up the studies on it, I'd suggest Journal of Neurology, or Canadian Journal of Neurological Sciences.
I guess it kinda stinks wherever you're at. Up here in Canadaland, I can complete welding in 1 year and get my basic class 4 ticket and become pick an apprenticeship program for whatever else I want including a pipefitter/welder combo-ticket. Mechanics can be cleared in 3 years, took 8 for me because I was a slacker and got distracted by other things.
Running a business though is like anything else, you try, fail, or succeed, and maybe you don't get it right the first time, just like your first relationship but you do learn from it.
Are also less likely to come into contact with carcinogens in their food, air and water.
Load of freaking shit. Until I was born my family was a farming family for a few generations, I still have a few friends in the business. One who does cattle(milk) 15k head(family owned), and another that does rotational crops from soy, corn and hay, to more rare stuff like ginseng and hemp. Sorry, but you get exposed to all sorts of really, really nasty stuff. On the field, and at your dinner plate. Because honestly, you're buying exactly the same stuff more often than not that everyone else does.
On the upside, you also get exposed to just about everything that nature can throw at you before it hits the slaughterhouse too. From cowpox to chicken based colds to whatever else. And you're not cooped up inside for 18hrs a day(unless it's winter), which really helps.
You should know then that most people like close-to-white, or blue-white for lighting. One of those funky things about the brain, and it being stimulating to it.
Stop buying the cheapest CFL that are made in China.
Ignorant poster is ignorant. Here's a list of CFL's before I gave up using them as their migraine inducing goodness was too good to pass up:
1yr period Oscram: 3/15 - warranty replaced all good. Phillips: 10/10 - complained got a case of 20 for nothing GE: 3/15 - sent replacement bulbs plus two extra
I'm happy to use regular incandescent bulb though, at least I can go a few hours without a migraine setting in this way. People say you can't see the flicker, they're insane.
When education, to escape the McDonalds job's pay...
Step 1: Finish highschool Step 2: Pick a trade, something fun but challenging. Step 3: Get ticket, and work for someone for awhile. Step 4: Quit, use all those contacts you've been building up for the last 6-7 years and start a business of your own. Step 5: Hire an apprentice or two, then run the business. Step 6: Enjoy the money.
I still find it funny that the majority of people on/. think that the only way to get good money is to have a university education. Skip it, get a trade.
Well since being a welder is a trade, and highschool is required at most. They might be better off considering their shitty choice in majors. Besides, the world doesn't need just welders, all trades. But hey, we'll just skip that. After all they might get their hands dirty, and have to do physical work. Real physical work.
Ever slug 250lbs segments of oil pipe around, then weld them up? Fun stuff. Pays well too, around $72k/year up here in Canada.
Funny enough. The Soviets did the same thing to "revolutionary reactionists" or the people who didn't believe in the glories of the motherland. Then they decided that sending them off to gulags or killing them was better.
So it is bad to invade, but it is also bad to sit back and stay out of the rest of the worlds affairs? make up your minds people
Well that was the point of my post. Kinda funny isn't it? It's kinda like gee, where are all those 'protests' about "war" and all that jazz that people had going on during Bush's term, yet when Obama launched a new war, there was silence.
Ah that's alright, considering Japan seems to be going full bore towards coal power plants. They're buying up every coal mine in western Canada that they can get their hands on so they can export it. I'm sure this is a much better option.
The last report from EC stated that there might be a few hundred. Especially since the majority of the claims of the robocalls showed to be either non-provable, or outright fabrications. Well, I guess if Soros can fund groups in the US to have people call in with claims of false voter supression. He can in Canada too, and that's happened as well.

Does one need to do a full scale invasion or simply sit by and do nothing to be complicit in the same act? The answer is blindingly simple.
So...I guess we can blame Obama for the fleeing of Christians from Egypt and Libya for the same reasons right?

Really? I've always found VLC to be better. MS-WMP won't even play mkv files.
VLC is indeed much, much better. I find that MPC though much better than VLC with better codec support.
