    I would guess because
    1) It took them time to test the fix.
    2) They would prefer not to require software updates unless they have to as there is always the "chance" of problems.

  3. Easy Solution on Cell Tracking on the Rise · · Score: 1

Carriers should make you opt in to be tracked. I believe most Canadian cell carriers send you a text message requiring you to accept being tracked. Then when someone tries to track you you would also get a text message. If your company was tracking you, at least you would know it was happening and give you time to think of a good excuse. ;-)

Just to create a blank database, Oracle defaults to 1 GB+. With the inefficiencies of the Oracle db, that does not exactly give me much room to play with. At least IBM is not going to have a limit.

Also, I definitely recommend people look at things that have been taken out of these "free" databases. For example online backup is one common thing that gets removed.

I have been waiting for a good Slashdot story on energy as I recently found a very interesting site http://www.lifeaftertheoilcrash.net/ which talks about a subject called Peak Oil, our reliance on oil and how technologies like this will not easily remove our reliance on oil. I would love to hear other /. comments on this.

To me, something like this Fusion reactor sound promising, but there are still so many industries that are reliant on oil, it can be somewhat scary.

Ladies and gentlemen of the supposed jury, I have one final thing I want you to consider: (pulling down a diagram of Chewie) this is Chewbacca. Chewbacca is a Wookiee from the planet Kashyyyk, but Chewbacca lives on the planet Endor. Now, think about that. That does not make sense! (jury looks shocked)

Why would a Wookiee -- an eight foot tall Wookiee -- want to live on Endor with a bunch of two foot tall Ewoks? That does not make sense!

But more importantly, you have to ask yourself: what does that have to do with life on other planets? (calmly) Nothing. Ladies and gentlemen, it has nothing to do with this life on other planets! It does not make sense!

Look at me, I'm a lawyer arguing about life on other planets, and I'm talkin' about Chewbacca. Does that make sense? Ladies and gentlemen, I am not making any sense. None of this makes sense.

And so you have to remember, when you're in that jury room deliberating and conjugating the Emancipation Proclamation... does it make sense? No! Ladies and gentlemen of this supposed jury, it does not make sense.

If Chewbacca lives on Endor, you must say life exists on other planets! The defense rests.
