With some friends and my wife, we have had drinking parties while we chat on mumble watching friends
play games. We can't all be together so this lets us share the experience. Its also good for showing friends games
you are trying to get them play but they live in another city.
I won't say its not a niche, but Its a useful one for me.
I agree, he is talking about PC gaming in the 90's or something. I usually buy mid range video cards and I can easily skip a generation of video cards or two and still play everything with max settings. I don't play every triple AAA title for pc but I play enough to know my pc never has a problem. My wifes PC has an amd 6800 card which is almost 5 years old and it plays most games maxed out. final fantasy 14 is a pretty intense game, the 6800 plays it at max settings/1080p no problem.
I think they way they are doing it is the right way. Get the core of openssl cleaned up toss everything else and rebuild. openbsd only is not a permanent thing.
I often have 2x 1080p videos streaming over my smb neywork without issue. I have for years. your hardware just is not up to the task. also dlna is crap.
I was using gtalk until about 5 months ago. Started hosting my own IRC server and my friends and family have all been using it.
Its been great, only issue is windows clients are not the best and file sharing has been a pain.
Very true, BSD has a lot to thank GCC and the GNU project for. And not just BSD. It doesn't really matter which UNIX flavor you install today, most of them include or optionally provide the GNU userland.
GNU and linux can thank the BSDs for many things also. Not much of a point.

I have been using xubuntu 14.04 pretty clean and works well for me. i am not enjoying the rift between qt,gtk2 and gtk3 skinning though.
I am the same as you.

As a 3rd gen logger, this is total bs.
Exactly. Bitcoin is to unstable to be worth looking at.
I did not care about this article until I seen the link you posted... Those are some mean bugs.
Been using the 8.1 preview for awhile and it sucks, but its far better than 8. The mix of settings between metro and windows is such a nightmare.
KDE took Amarok down to hell with it when it hit version 4.0.
10/10
Yeah I been wondering what all this talk of 'Time' is and why anyone cares enough about a web comic to slashdot it.
lol fanfic.... Post some links tough guy.
It amazes me that so few Americans realize this.
mid/north BC. Most mail is delivered to the door.
I been using flac for all my music collection about 5 years now. Also have had an mp3 player that has supported it for 3-4 years now.
He loved the idea of it, but hated how terrible it was for what he needed. Not shocking, its the reason no one uses linux.
This is exactly why I brought my wii u back after 1 day. I could not believe the fail.
Wow, the worst GPU sold on the market has slightly faster performance on a platform no one uses... yay?

What was it a first gen. DirectX 7.0 Radeon? I have had no problems using ATI cards for the last few years and I am a gamer.

I think bitcoin is useless, but how much power does the dollar cost to print. Everything has a cost.
I have not seen any benchmarks showing a noticeable speed difference between windows 7 and 8. Let alone "significantly faster than Windows 7"...
