    I required more than that to take a 125cc moped out on the open road without an instructor.

    I had to drive round a closed driving course, then go out with the instructor. The complete course to drive a 125cc moped (that only lasts two years before I'd have to either do it again or take the full test) took two days.

    When and where did you take your driving test?

    Damn it something will have to give. You can have Even Dumber phones (Nokia 208 or a bunch of LG phones) but you will have to live with 20-day battery life. You poor little bunny.

    I'd assume the put the press release out on a news wire service (such as Press Association, Thomson Reuters or PR Newswire) rather than directing it media outlets. Then it is down to if someone at each media outlet is reading the newswire and if they feel it is interesting for their readers.

    At this point time zones, local news and all that stuff comes into play. The USA currently has some meaty news stories going down. I'd guess that right now the news wires are full of good stories that are just being dropped as the political stories will sell more.

    Playing games via voice only is damn near impossible. Personally I want to go a step up from video and get a WiFi arm so I can play board & card games with her.

    I am in a similar position. My ex-partner moved ~3000km away taking our daughter with her.
    There is a massive difference between voice-only and video. While voice is fine for a one-off and quick chats while out and about, it does not keep the attention long.
    The you don't have all the visual ques that are so important when speak to a little one. For example trying to read a story without being able to see if you kid is engaged is very hard.
    Trying to tell of a child when they can not see you is hard as they can not see that you are upset.

    I think SVN supports web dev and can be mounted as a drive in windows. But I'm not sure how well it handles commit conflicts in this form.

    I think they are currently about £10. Unlike the any previous style-based device (like HTC Wizards) they stay in the holder very well.

    The two are not the same.
    Netflix you are renting X files for the next 30 days. You know this. No expectations that you can stop playing the £Y and movies will still magic onto your tellybox.

    "Buy" a game from Steam/Xbox/Origin/what evs and you pay just the once and expect it to continue working.

    One you are getting a service, the other you are getting a product.

    NeXTSTEP was one of the many closed source OSes kicking about in the early 80s to mid-90s. When Steve Jobs returned to Apple he turned NeXTSTEP into MacOS X.
    GNUStep is an open source API based on the NeXTSTEP API.

    Why should you support it? If you really really want MacOS X software Y this will make porting it to your-OS-of-choice a lot easier.

    Disney & Ford no longer actively support the views that there owners once did (as far as I am aware). Telling the company now is rather pointless. If they start working in ways that "we" find disagreeable then it is time to boycott again.

    I'm a dad and have been dragged into watching it (and many many other cartoons), and enjoying the cartoon I do understand. I actively watch Batman and Barbie with my daughter.

    What I find creepy is the way the loudest group of Bronies act, spraying Rule 34 all over the play in video games like. For many I except this is the appearance of the Bronie community.

    Depends on how you look at it.
    My Note is on a £35 a month 24 month contract with an upfront fee of £70. The total cost of ownership £910.
    An unlocked Galaxy Note 2 was at the time £450. The same plan is £12.90 on SIM only, over two years that is £310, total cost of ownership £760.

    Now I'd don't have £450 to drop on a new phone. So I'd have to take out a loan. Looking for a loan would cost, getting one for such a small amount would cost. Going direct to the mobile operator costs £150. Is the time and hassle of getting a loan saved worth £150? I'd say yes, you may feel differently.
