Yeah, the first thing I thought when I saw this, is, the surface that the rubber band is rolling on is curved inwards! I thought they were studying the movement of it rolling down a hill...
I wonder if there are any significant differences between the behaviour of this experiment vs. the behaviour of a rubber band rolling along a tilted conveyor belt? What about a surface curved in the other direction?
Why can't we all just get along?... Here, I've got the solution:
Why couldn't God have just used 'evolution' as his mechanism to 'create' all life? What if he simply just started the ball rolling then the rest of it was just one big science experiment to see which branch of organisms would advance the quickest? Then when one was smart enough, he started talking to it.
It's not about what Minority Report was about, it's a reference to certain aspects of the futuristic world that was created. So it doesn't matter that the main technology featured in Minority Report was about catching people in acts of pre-crime.
It's like if we started to see flying cars everywhere, we could say that we're be closer to "Back to the Future 2", even though time travel wasn't invented (yet?...).
Winston probably called himself "the Church".

They're probably just trying to get on teh hackers' good sides so they won't get hacked.

There. Science and Creation can co-exist.

Made of plastic or not made of plastic, it doesn't matter... This whole thing will only work once we perfect the ZPM.
