is the corner stone of MANY of the "major religions."
The Catholic church is (subject to current pedophile lawsuits) the largest open, tax free business in the US with all the property they own and the non-religion related use of their properties. The courts are just afraid to get involved. ie, the church buys an apartment builing in NYC, rents out the storefronts and apartments and then takes in the rent. The tenants, many of whom are NOT Catholic, carry on their lives in a 'tax exempt' building because of the owner, not its proper use under the tax law.

"And to anyone who thinks that eBay should have been held responsible, I would ask this...should Slashdot now be held responsible for what I am saying in this post?"
Of course not YOU, but this Anonymous Coward guy has got to go! lol
"You're right though: the catch though is that eBay goes to extreme lengths to monitor the items for sale on the site but then professes hands off on user comments. "
Ebay does not go to any lengths unless they receive a specific complaint. There has been a running battle with eBay permitting sale of items with blatent copyright infringement of Disney, WB and Nickelodeon images and they refuse to do anything unless they get a complaint from the company that owns the character and auction item #.
Let's get real! The "average" person would not type "fuckgeheralmotors.com" unless they were fed the URL by someone.
Personally, I thought it was funny! No way I could or would take it as a serious action by Ford, Daimler-Chrysler or any other legitimate company.
How many people do you know, other than geeks and freaks, that EVER surf the net using url's that start with "fuck"? It is a bad joke, in bad taste and in reality, has no effect on Ford other than an intrusive redirection of an IP address.
That is like asking them to close down the local donut shop! Where do you think they get THEIR games?
There are new openings for them at the New York Times......
Which of these sterile seeds is the father of my crop? Did the doctors tell you that you can't have children or do your papers say it?
Well, the doctors lied! You are NOT sterile and your patent is void.... Step outside and pay your child support!
Did you say MS just bought Symbian?

Ebay may monitor, but that doesn't mean they act.

Why not just mount a cordless dustbuster on the BIOBug? You have your "robotic vacuum"!! Now to teach it to empty the dirt cup....... hmmmmm.....
When I signed up with Cablevision here in New York, they specifically BAN running a server of any kind on the cable connection.
The IP is "supposed" to be dynamic, but hasn't changed in over a year.
Can't complain for only $29/mo. when A**holes On Line gets about $24/mo. and dumps anyone that thinks they have "unlimited" monthly usage.
