Slobs are more productive when there's only one person (the slob) working on something, when you start having more than one person working on a job then you'll probably find the tidy people start overtaking the slobs quite quickly.
that should be Easy to manage until you get a problem (usually caused by buggy software) and then it's impossible to do anything because your hands are tied.
I've never had a problem on Linux that I couldn't get to the bottom of, even if it meant I had to fix bugs in the kernel source, at least I had the source to find and fix the bugs.
I recently purchased a fanless power supply, now I only have a fan on the CPU on one on the graphics card. You can't even hear the pc when your right up next to it, water cooling is a waste of money.
And everything your teachers told you was true? Just look at something like chemistry or physics, when you leave one school to go to a higher one they practically tell you to forget everything you've learned up until that point as it was not accurate.
That sound a bit like the 'computer' I'm going to stick in my car. A CPU with a bit of ram and everything else (wireless, harddrive, flash card reader, sound card etc...)running off of usb.
That's strange, I view Religion and authority in the same light and I'm an atheist. I hate the religious people even more now if there the ones that voted Bush in....
Just like the Advertising tax I pay (indirectly) to Rupert Murdoch every time I buy something from the shops. I I don't even own a satellite dish or read the sun.
Software is no more than mathematics. An mathematics is a mental process. As soon as you allow patents of software you allow patents on thought itself.
There's also a constitutional right that says you can't be fined without going to court. That makes all those on the spot fines unconstitutional, it didn't however stop the government from passing laws and implementing them.
I remember clicking on setup.exe and being told that Microsoft Installer wasn't installed, I don't get that problem under linux. And what happens when you click on setup.exe under vista, will that work as well? Linux distros often let you upgrade the kernel to a new version without causing all kinds or problems with your environment.
Setup.exe doesn't work any better that many of the Linux package managers do.
When I fuck up it's my problem and I have to sort it out. When Amazon fucks up it's still my problem and I have to sort this out.
I fairly sure here in the UK there's legislation that would stop Amazon from being able to charge the extra money after the transaction has gone through.
When my local starts giving away free beer (which does happen from time to time) I drink as much as possible even if I think that the owner is being stupid by giving away free beer.
How is that any different from taking free stuff from Amazon?
Like DeCss and Mp3 support not coming as default, and no wizards for installing firmware for wifi cards etc.... I thought Ubuntu was supposed to be easy to use, It's about time someone put up an illegal distribution of Linux with everything included (firmware etc...)

and hope that the hardware works ok
While others have been waiting for a format that wasn't crippled in the first place.
I think it would only have to take account of the gravity of the earth

it would be a lot shorter that 5-7 years if they were prepared to spend a bit of money getting the apps they want supported.
All men are mortal.
All mortals are called Socrates
Therefore, all men are named Socrates.
There fixed it for you.

If you don't mind paying a lot of the things you ask for will run under crossover.

I think I'll stick with paying the BBC upfront.

It's a shame they didn't contribute the firmware for their wireless cards.
Wow, not only can it cook up a good stir-fry but it can also make a satellite dish.
