You imply that because the summary only gave evidence of Direct Connect's ties to Republican corrupton...that the author chose to not show evidence of Direct Connect's ties to Democratic corruption.
So, show me those ties. Show me how Democrats use evil companies like Direct Connect to further their goals.
Unless, of course, such ties don't exist and you're propping up a strawman...
This issue was always the one that pissed me off. I can't copy my CDs because I only have a liscense to listen to the music...so why can't I get a free new CD if I mail you the un-playable CDs?!
Fuck it, just keep stealing the music. They'll never get us all.
Personally, I've given up on network file-sharing. I have a group of friends and we have a little system see....and the RIAA will never catch me.
At least, not until they buy off the Republicans again and give cops the right to a warrant-less search of your house for non-disc-form music and video!
Oh...they're needed to stop 'riots', eh? Man on the ground will say "It's a riot", out come the weaponry, and a few weeks later the cops who killed citizens with 'non-lethal' weapons will be charred corpses in their own beds...their wives and children smoldering down the hall...while the easily-led 'middle-americans' cry and weep for the death of their masters.
If the kids in these backwards states are being taken advantage of, perhaps the fault is not with MySpace, but with the 'life lessons' being taught at home?
Age of consent is 18? So you can drive a 3000lb flying hunt of steel...but you can't fuck? What kind of half-wits thought that one up?
In the 80's I read a BBS text file that described how to pick locks. Made a set myself out of small allen keys.
They described the 'rake' technique where you put tension on the cylinder and just zip a zig-zagged piece of metal against the pin.
With a little practice I opened many locks...didn't even have to bother going pin by pin. As soon as you got one pin above that line, the upper pin kinda 'snapped' over and stayed up.
You had no problem barking at someone who disagreed, and you do the same to me. Have you ever thought that if you piss your child off enough that he wants nothing to do with his parents...that perhaps that is not in his best interest? It'll give him relationship issues for the rest of his life, and the 'lessons' you taught him might produce the opposite result.
I don't understand how you can say you won't forbid things unless their is a logical reason, and then go on to imply your household is not 'godless'. That's pure humor right there!
When you realize that your child wants their freedom, and you have tried many technique...I suggest you just back off. Unless, that is, you want to poison the relationship and die alone in a nursing home or something.
It also helps if you have logical reasons for forbidding certain behavior. Definately don't use religious excuses...kids these days aren't buying that supersticion anymore.
Our troops aren't just fighting for Democracy, they're also fighting for stable economies & developed infrastructures. I don't think it looks bad if they have gadgets and bells and whistles along with them while they're at war. These are some of the things they're fighting for them and their children to keep.
Not in Iraq they aren't. I support the troops 100%, but they are not being used in an honorable way by our government. They certainly aren't "fighting for stable economies and developed infrastructures". Well, maybe they are...but 3 years ago they were fighting against a stable enconomy and developed infrastructre...why did the flip-flop?
Maybe it's because the reasons for the Iraq war were mostly lies?
Nearly all the fly-over states operate at a deficit...they get more money from the Federal gov't than they contribute. WHen the welfare-check goes away and people start dying...it'll be hard for them to fight.
They'd use the software illegally, and classify it as 'national security'. That way, you can't request information on it...and the citizens would hate you for even trying to find out because you would be 'hurting our security'. Also, any whistle-blower would be a criminal because they would need to expose the classified information to expose the crime.
You say that like it is a bad thing. I'd rather keep my well-paid job than get a measly $10,000 and 'recognition'.
I get money for rising to challenges, money for patents filed, money for new ideas. Of course it helps keep me away from the killing floor when job-cuts come arround, but I've survived 11 years...I'm doing pretty well.
This is the Republican America, where 9-5 is a dream. Just accept that you need to work a little harder than most countries...in order to benefit from a richer life-style than most countries, and you will understand.
It sounds like you are supporting the War on Terror over the (needed) War on Car Deaths.
We've spent over 100 Billion Dollars on the war in Iraq. That's supposed to make us 'safer'. All it has done so far is killed and maimed more US Citizens than all the foreign terrorist attacks on the US put together!
Imagine what would happen if we spent that $100+ Billion on auto safety devices both in-car and on-road! Hell, that's enough to give every man woman and child in this nation $338 bucks!
All I'm saying is, maybe it's time to try a new tactic!
I mean, the current US government has no problems taking quite liberal (hah!) interpretations of laws and powers to fulfill its goals. Gitmo prisoners, anyone? Spying on citizens with no warrants, despite a perfectly good system already in place?
To think that the US Gov't would give one second's thought to this 'limitation' if they wanted to use the software is laughable...
They'd just call the authors terrorists...and the people would be frothing to find them and beat them.
Even if the articles stated quite simply what the statistics are...people would still be afraid of the 'others'. It's the ol' tribal mentality coming to the surface. It skews their ability to weigh threats against each other.
Besides, they can stop flying...they can't stop driving! How will they eat?
Seriously...is Apple becoming the Old Navy of computers? Stylish, but not designed to last? Perhaps even engineered to fail early because you want the new style anyway?
I think I already used this analogy, but here it might not be so good...Apple isn't cheap. Hmmmm...
Why did I expect any better from wacko religious hate-mongers?
Lift yourself up, lest ye be likened unto your enemies.

Which might happen...
Surprise the woman, grab the piece, rape her at gun-point. Then, maybe, a bullet or two in her head so there are no witnesses!

Our gov't doesn't need more ways to subjugate us.

Advertise what you actually sell: Connections that can be UP TO 5mb...with a hard floor like .5Mb

Worked great on old worn out locks.

(See, I can poltically-troll too!)
I support public schools and gay marriage! :D

Besides, 'liberals' have guns too.
I know I do!
I bought my iRiver years ago...HD MP3 player...cheaper, more features and less fruity than the aPple MP3 player.
I suppose aPple could claim that the 'i' prefix means that iRiver is 'stealing' part of their name...
They wouldn't try to sue Burger King...no way. Notice they are picking companies nobody has heard of. Well, I haven't heard of.

It's very neat and tidy.

If I come up with a kick-ass idea for my employer, I'll stand to benefit much more than simply $10,000.
:D
I guess if you are job-less, this is a cool way to get some credentials of a sort.
Otherwise, it is pretty lame. BOFH never felt the need to prove his skills

And Old Navy clothing looks better than Carthart and Dickies.
If we cannot show the government that we are responsible enough to use our smoke detectors in a safe manner, they will take them away from us!
