    I agree with the premise, I just don't think it can work in practice. Mexico is our second biggest trade partner just a hair behind Canada. A trade war with them might drive prices up. But, then again, so would replacing illegal labor with citizens getting minimum wage. I guess it's worth a try.

    Are you sure you don't have to craft different views for different platforms? A web page designed for a large screen doesn't work so well on a small screen, much less a tiny screen.

    I pay more each year for less value. Time to reset that balance by taking content for free (i.e. with the ads cut out). Maybe once I feel we're even I'll go back to looking at the ads.

    Wow, way to apologise for this kind of thing.

    I just download TV via torrent with the commercials already cut out. If that means the shows stop being made, oh well, I'll move on to other entertainment.

    At this point I feel adversarial towards the distributors and producers of TV content. They just take and take and take. Fine, I played along for years but not anymore. Now I'm going to actively subvert their revenue stream just to fuck with them.

    Incentive Stock Options don't have that requirement. You don't pay income tax on them, and I would guess that most of these guys got the ISOs instead of the Non-Qualified options.

    He's just burning some books. Our soldiers are being attacked because they are occupying peoples' homes and supporting a new government they don't all accept. The argument that burning these books would put our soldiers in more danger is not only incorrect, but irrelevant as here we are...giving up our rights and freedoms because we fear the terrorists. Another victory for fundies.

    We never should have invaded that place. It was sheer folly to think that we could handle it without a draft, or at all, given history.

    We set up a puppet government and got it voted in. The CIA is getting caught up in local corruption investigations in that government, and you ignore all the angst in the region about that government.

    The ends do not justify the means. It is not the place of the USA to "free the world". Especially not on my dime.

    Again, I don't give a shit about happy Afghanis. This war affects me because my country's name is all over it and it reflects on me.

    Everything isn't a webapp/DB solution. Our networks are highly segregated for security. Who is in charge of making sure that 'different DB' has relevant and correct data in it? Who makes sure that the cloned prod image doesn't have sensitive info in it? Shops serious about security would laugh you out of the building for suggesting what have post.

    The people running test environment and production environment are usually different groups. Communication needs to be clear in both directions so that the software levels are the same.

    There's more than deployment. One has to ensure that the staging/test servers have the exact same software levels as the production servers. Make sure your test teams and production teams are in synch.

    That's why you take advantage of modern logging subsystems that allow you to enable the higher level of detail for only the sections of the program you want.

    We often do this on only one server in the cluster if possible to reduce impact.
