I'm not sure, but I remember Corel's CEO in the past saying really bad things about Microsoft and the.net initiative and praising Java instead. just because MS purchased 24 million shares now Corel doesn't seem to have a problem with MS, they're suddenly in love.
Corel is just a bunch of hypocrites and suits. Also, you gotta admit they make the crappiest linux distribution.
Be an Outlaw, use a free Operating System. Something is going terribly wrong, we used to be born free on a free earth and suddenly we imposed on ourselves a lot of restrictions. My question is, are humans getting worst as the years go by? Has our life really improved?
Unfortunately I don't know and I'm too lazy to care anyway.
Let's face it, people are getting jealous from geeks. We do what we love, we get huge money out of it, some of us play games like Diablo and Quake and we also get music and porn for free. Unlike many other people we have a damn good life, the government's job is to make it miserable just like the rest of the society.
Gap? everything is wrong with this company. It employs young children under 12 to do the job at ridiculous salaries. Gap is even worst than MS. Gap sux, I hate them, their commercials suck to. Gap is simply evil.
Why isn't Woz a rich bazillionaire? Simple, do you know any genius who's actually rich? And the best thing is that they don't care about getting rich, if they did they would concentrate all of their efforts on that.
"...conclusion that computers stifle learning and creativity and may cause damage to both vision and posture..." that can also be said about books, they to cause damage to both vision and posture. Anyway I always loved reading and when I was in school I used to bring a book with me and read it during class. Do I regret it? Not.
"...She has even speculated that early introduction to computer "learning" may also interfere with proper brain development..." Early introduction for a child to any kind of learning interfere with proper brain development. I heard about that two years ago, so why just target computers now? And yes I agree that young children don't have to be exposed to computers at such a young age. But computers in every classroom starting in mid high-school and college will definitely be an asset for students.
Talking about cheerleading, cheerleaders sure do look nice and I love to look at them but what a waste of talent. Most of them are very talented and yet they do not so usefull jobs.
Their's nothing wrong with the fact that females are different than the males. But they're not so different actually. Both tend to give a huge importance for material stuff (me included) guys go for computers, cars, etc. and girls go for makeup, clothes, etc.
They're losing a lot of money, so they're trying every little trick they have. But Corel will possibly vanish within 2 years. They already lost a lot of money.
We have 4 technicians and about 300 employees to support. People usually call but now we're implementing a new system, they can submit a problem report form using our intranet. It then adds the request to a SQL database. Whenever the user connects back to the site, it'll show the status of his Tickets and what's happening with them. The manager sees the ticket and assigns it to someone, when it's over with the technician edits the ticket and writes a resolution. That way whenever a problem like that happens we'll search the database and find solutions quickly. The techs have their own site in which they can view/create/edit/search for Tickets by Ticket Number, employee, description of problem, etc. Anyway it's way far from done yet but when it'll be done I'm planning on having a FAQ page and a knowledge base so users can quickly resolve their most common problems. It'll also be a great way to communicate new procedures, news, and VIRUS warnings.
The main problem is that their are too many online communities, their's so many to choose from. A lot of people find themselves being part of dozens of communities, suddenly they don't have much time to participate in all of them and they start dividing their time between all those VC's. You can't possibly develop a friendship or even have an interesting conversation when you barely have 5 free minutes of free time, this is also true in real life.
When I first got on the internet, I visited a lot of porn sites, then after a week I lost interest. Their's just so many things to do online, it's crazy and the fact that most websites are free doesn't make things easier. This may sound crazy to many of you but If each VC site charged a fee, participants would be more interesting and interested in participating in online discussions. But since they're almost all free, it's just too easy and so the value of a VC decreases.
If the company you work in have such methodologies and documentation crap, just tell them that you don't like it and that it's not in your best interest to work in such a company. Trust me it's not a good idea to waste your time working at that kind of job.
That's what I did and they listened.
actually MS uses UNIX to protect themselves from viruses
Think about all the money you can get if they have NT

then I made a good choice by buying plenty of Creative Labs hardware, from sound cards to dvd roms, to mp3 players. Now they're making me proud

Geez with the amount of laws in place it's becoming very easy to break a few ones.
>Silly boy, stop carrying on. We don't care how >tuFF you can feel hiding behind that keyboard >and screen
Now, it seems to me like you're the one hiding behind the keyboard and screen Anonymous Coward.
Funny I used to visit Slashdot for Linux news,
nowadays all I see around here is posts about MS and some other OS called Mac.

Come one we all know it's all Linus fault "World Domination, Fast" so MS countered with their own world domination strategy, the .NET platform.

Would love to disagree with you but unfortunately you're offering nothing but the truth.
