For such a smart guy, how can you say something so stupid???!!! Have you ever heard of the freedom of speech? How is it that we could speak freely if we are taxed for every item we send? Maybe some countries don't have The Constitution like us... look at the shape Europe is in! Asia, Africa... come on! They are falling apart and have not ever been even partially as successful as the US.
NEVER should the government be allowed to control ANYTHING that happens over the internet! Why did the government allow sales on the internet without sales tax? Simple: because they could not stop people from selling w/o tax. But now everyone registers their online business with the government and so when they decide to start taxing again, suddenly everyone is in their grips.
If Jefferson or any other founding fathers (even the ones who were considered liberal at the time) were around now and saw how their country taxes out 40+% of all national income, they would fall right back into their grave.
Are spammers really an excuse to give government the right to rule our internet actions? Buy a damn filter program.
The only way Amiga could violate the license is if they decided to integrate all their GUI code and drivers into one monolithic kernel and not release it. A kernel is a kernel. An app is an app. A shell is a shell. They are each different. Just because you think something seems OSish, does not make it part of the kernel code. Simple as that. Maybe you were confused because you are not a programmer. Try programming. It's fun!

The Linux community does not just stand for "free" software in the sense that it doesn't cost money, but "free" as in open source! If the vendors want to make close source software, then they should just make the software good, release it for Linux, and people will buy it. There is no way I will use software with banner ads. I HATE software like that! Linux users are NOT just Cheapos!
To this day, starting around 5 years ago, the only TV show I watch consistantly is the Simpsons. Nothing has every compared, including Futurama although I will give it a little more time. In the more recent episodes I have seen the humor slip a notch closer to South Park and Bevis & Butthead with the sexual jokes and swearing though. This is sad, because although I love the low-base humor in stuff like Married w/ Children and Bevis & Butthead, I find the Simpsons are better then that, or should be at least. Oh well.. I hope it stays great!
If Wine comes about with the ability to run any Windows program, and runs them more faster, cleaner, and safer, then Bill might as well find a nice motel to settle into because his time is up. NO business would pay for Windows machines when all they need is a free Linux with that can run whatever apps they need. There will be a period of switching where developers begin seeing Linux as a good platform, and we all get cross-platform code. MS would die, then Wine would die, then everything would be Linux.
