What if I've already got an XBox live subscription? Do I have to purchase a separate "gold" one for the XBox 360, transfer the existing subscription or can I use one subscription for both?
I'm not sure what my friend has, but I've got Sprint PCS (proprietary US service) which got all out of whack because I activated the phone from one area code, but immediately took a vacation and setup the voicemail from another. So the voicemail notification messages kept being sent to the vacation area code for routing by the home address but "home" wasn't there so I never got notified.
The sound of the customer service rep's head bashing against the wall gave me the impression I wasn't the only one who had done this.
who's evacuated out of state and has a cell phone with long distance service, but people are having problems calling TO him. Presumably because the call is still trying to get to New Orleans to figure out where to forward his phone call.
has a security system that does the same thing only better (it calls the police first) and cheaper. (Okay and it doesn't have the webcams, but I think she could probably get that installed).
And best of all... the thieves can't STEAL IT. (like they could with the robot)
The robot's COOL and all but... I don't see the point.
Even though prayer in schools was considered to be legal (in a court of law) as not promoting one religion over the other until O'Hare said it offended her as an atheist?
The parent of the parent was referring to the nature of religion in the history of the US (IE prayer in schools who's removal is a recent innovation).
The parents response was that he didn't understand what the founding fathers thought.
My reponse was to show that the founding fathers were religious and that the definition of "Congress shall establish no religion or prohibit the free exercist therof" is a gray area that to some meant Congress shall not establish a church but the institution can still be religious.
It is the definition of religion that has changed over time.
"You do well to wish to learn our arts and our ways of life and above all, the religion of Jesus Christ. These will make you a greater and happier people than you are. Congress will do everything they can to assist you in this wise intention. " George Washington 1779
"I have sometimes thought there could not be a stronger testimony in favor of religion or against temporal enjoyments, even the most rational and manly, than for men who occupy the most honorable and gainful departments and [who] are rising in reputation and wealth, publicly to declare their unsatisfactoriness by becoming fervent advocates in the cause of Christ; and I wish you may give in your evidence in this way." James Madison 1773
"Here is my creed: I believe in one God, the Creator of the universe. That he governs it by his providence. That he ought to be worshiped. That the most acceptable service we render him is doing good to his other children. That the soul of man is immortal, and will be treated with justice in another life respecting its conduct in this." Benjamin Franklin (who, let it be known to all the gentle readers, was decidedly NOT a Christian or a religious man)
Jefferson was an atheist.
You know what's missing from American Education? Even the tiniest bit of knowledge about how to think for yourself.
This is not just on global warming and stem cells, currently in the news, but on a whole range of issues - lead and mercury poisoning in children, women's health, birth control, safety standards for drinking water, forest management, air pollution and on and on.
All of these "sciences" were politically manipulated for years by "the other side" to fit their agenda. Is it not suprising, then that the tables have turned? Even slashdot's own articles have pointed out the fact that governmental science labs have been manipulated almost from day one to give the results the politicians want.
that silver had antibacterial properties. A silver based antibiotic mixture was inserted INTO a friends wound to help sterilize it and I thought the reason people used silverware was for similar reasons. (Although I could just be buying into urban legends or making wrong assumptions... I don't recall ever reading that in an official tome somwhere...)
It's kind of like saying, what's the advantage to seeing Star Wars at midnight when I can see if at the bargain theater in a few weeks (or on the internet last week...)?
Well... none. It's just kinda fun to hang around with diehards at midnight and then running up to my friends the next day and going nyah! nyah!
I put a down payment for an XBox 360 under the assumption that WHAT THEY HYPED was what would be in the unit. Not some pie in the sky, it'll have HiDef DVD next year and then the year after that we'll introduce XBOX360 3.0 which, as you all know, is when Microsoft gets it right so hooo-baby, get your preorders in for that one, and oh sorry about that built-in wireless router but that was too expensive.
I completely and totally understand that some features may change from preorder to launch. But all of this hype now about different consoles and such and I'm ready to just drop the whole thing until they actually ink the final shipping product features.
Fool me once, shame one you... fool me twice...
One things for sure, it'll be a LONG time before I preorder any Microsoft game system again.
ARE belong to us...
I wonder if O'Reilly can give Adam Sessler a run for his money... (Actually now that I think about it... they do look like they're related...)
(Yeah, it's a dupe reply! Wanna make somethin' out of it!!?!)

They've rediscovered the Eliza program!

How does it feel to "book a first-class flight"?

Wow, thanks... That's the problem with memes though... either you know them or you don't...
"Sokath, his eyes open"

Actually yeah... (and a basement entrance as well).

Then the germs evolve and become resistant to silver and we're in REAL trouble.
Dunno if the slashdotting did it, But MS's site now says it's a Moderate Severity risk.
Or code Bert...
Using the Adults Only rating? .ao?
Oh wait... that's Angola...
Is that... is that like paying the prostitute before hand?
(Generally I've had good experiences with preorders especially with the PS1 and 2. yeah it's hype but there's a certain amount of "fun" to it)
Yeah they did:

I have a receipt from EB for a down payment towards the purchase of one of the initial shipment of XBOX360's.
If that's not a "preorder" I dunno what is.
Who wants to buy my preorder?!

Alcohol's a DEPRESSANT and slows the heart rate.
I suspect this guy was exhaused and hyped up on caffeine and Red Bull... (heh, I know I would've been!)
But that just about matches my expectations...
