According to your link it's KD. I remember that they changed they name recently. Something about trying to be hip again. Only tried the stuff a couple of times and can't stand it.
Can you make it an optional behaviour? Because it's a pain in the ass. And why is it only external links that do that if people are worried about losing their place when scrolling? This is happening when I view the story on it's own page to the logic doesn't really apply.
It's annoying enough that I'll leave/. if it continues. There isn't a work around for me to open the link in the same tab while the other people could always right click to bring up the option to open it in a new tab/window.
I noticed recently that links to external sites now open in a new tab. This is a new behaviour as they always used to open in the same window/tab for me. Was this a change on the site or something that happened on my end?
If I want to open a link in a new tab or window then I'll make that choice. Site developers don't know how I work and are not in the best position to choose whether to open a link in the same tab or a new one.
My idea was to isolate the wireless network and only have it to do services such as NTP. You wouldn't have to configure the devices at all as they would automatically find the network and grab the time when needed. All you would need to do is click an option on your wireless router to turn it on. Not every device needs to be fully connected to the Internet. Timers to turn lights on and off, my stove, my microwave, and my alarm clock could all set themselves automatically with this but not suffer with the additional security holes of being fully on the Internet.
Sounds like the last development shop I was in except that would have been the last iteration.
The project would have been to build a house so the first iteration would have built a grass hut. The client says "No, we need some bedrooms because it's for a family of four." Tear down the hut and build a bungalow cabin consisting of a main room and a three bedrooms in back. "Oh, I was thinking something with two stories." So, tear down the bungalow and....
It's not just twice a year for daylight savings. My bedside clock is a pain because it's always out a couple of minutes. I don't know why. I set it to the correct time and within a couple of weeks it's a minute behind. By the time it's time to change the clocks it's about three minutes slow. And yes it's a digital clock. It doesn't bother me enough to always move the time forward. But it would be nice if once a week or even once a month if it would contact a time server and adjusted itself.
Then there are times when the power goes out. It'd be great not to have to go around and set the clocks on everything if they could just connect to a time server and set themselves. My bedside clock has a good battery and keeps the time when the power is out so I normally don't have to set that. But other clocks need to be reset.
Having an open time server for devices to connect to as part of router would be a neat thing so that you wouldn't need to set up devices to connect to your network in order to get to the Internet. Basically have a automatic guest network called 'TimeServer' that fire walled off from everything else. The router would get the time itself from a server and run a time server only accessible on this guest network. Then if a person has WiFi at home then all they would need to do is turn on this feature and any devices would be able to update their time.
No, they had to keep the state of fear going. Not like it's likely. But it's hard to get funding and push through draconian laws when the sheeple are feeling safe.
So, what happens if a dirty bomb is created by someone from the US itself. There's lots of people from the US that are more than willing to go on a shooting rampage.
Or what happens if a group from the US goes after a target in the Middle East because the government isn't acting tough enough for them. Since you feel that the US would have the right to retaliate then any country attacked by this rebel group could retaliate against the US, or ask another country to do so on it's behalf, and you wouldn't have a problem with that, right? Or does that only work one way?
Why would I want to cut my salary so that the CEO can get a bonus for keeping the stock price high? The company isn't in trouble. It's a cost reduction exercise looking at short term results in order to boost the stock price (or at least to keep it steady). Do you think those people from Disney should have taken a pay cut in order to keep their jobs?
If the company was failing and had treated me well then I would take a pay cut in order to keep my job or to prevent layoffs so that the company would stay going longer. But never just so that a firm could improve it's bottom line.
What we need is to hear about the good companies. Those that find a way to keep their staff during the bad times instead of resorting to layoffs first thing. We need to know of the good places to work. Not just through our contacts. And when companies pull crap like this then the people impacted, those left behind, and people looking for work will know not to avoid those companies but the companies that are good for employees.
I believe that if you treat your employees right then they will do the same for you and you will get better people wanting to work for you. But that only works if people know that there is somewhere better to go to. So how about we let the people at Hertz, Disney, and all of these other terrible places that there are better employers out there. Anyone want to start a site?
There's the term that they came up for it long before it happened and then there's the term that came about from the people repeatedly cleaning up the mess. The second term is usually much more accurate and colourful.
I searched for a couple of the extensions for the tab. One didn't work at all. The other worked but what happens is that the tab comes up as before and then it goes blank. It's more irritating than without the extension.
The other thing I noticed in the past couple of days is that external links from/. are opening in new tabs when they didn't before. There was an extension in Opera that was supposed to stop that from happening but it didn't work. I tried to find one for Firefox and no luck there either. I wish site developers would let me choose where I wanted to open a link. If I want to open it in a new window or tab then I'll do it myself.
Yes, when I was listening to the podcast that was my worry. Imagine them engineering a fast acting bacteria for the industrial process and then having it escape. I doubt that it harm life on earth but it would be devastating to the economy as we'd have to come up with another way to store things long term. It would also make way to do industrial sabotage. Imagine introducing this into the plastic of a bottler and in a few weeks all of their bottled goods start springing leaks (or bursting if they are under pressure). Maybe I should write a book about that.
How about the attacks against the migrants? Why aren't they called terror attacks? After all the whole point of them is to terrorize them into going away. Migrants have been killed. Muslims haven't been the cause of those attacks and not all of the migrants are Muslims.
I was listening to a podcast and they brought this up. Unfortunately I listen to a number of science ones and I can't find which one it was. But what I got from the interview was that they would like to be able to engineer the bacteria so that it would stop eating the plastic part way leaving it as the copolymers that went into making the plastic in the first place.
The reason that PET plastics are durable is that the bonds between atoms and molecules are strong. To break these bonds requires a lot of energy. Most recycling of plastics takes the old plastic, chops it into pellets, and melts it into the new product. But the new product is almost never as good in quality as the original. Drink bottles don't go back to drink bottles. They use virgin plastic. Drink bottles get recycled into carpet or benches. Very useful things but you still need something to create the drink bottles from.
The idea is that if you can use the bacteria to break down the PET into the copolymers without using a lot of energy then you can create "virgin" plastic suitable for any use without having to use fossil fuels as a source for plastic as you do today. There are projects looking at replacing fossil fuels with oils obtained from agriculture and those will still be needed since our demand for plastic is growing and our recycling rate is 100%.
even if you do decrypt the phone of this deviant person with the child pornography what are you going to do with the big encrypted file that you can't touch because they knew you had a back door to the phone and put all their files into an app that kept them safe and separate from the operating system?
Taking a look at it and there's a couple of things that are bugging me so far.
Is there a way to turn off speed dial? I just want a blank page to show up when I open a new tab or window? This one isn't a showstopper but I just don't like seeing it, especially since I removed all of the bookmarks from the speed dial and it still pops up.
Also, can it start searching for text on a page when I start typing? I do this all of the time on Firefox and the Command-F seems like an unnecessary step.
On the Mac when you click the button to manage the proxy it brings up your system preferences. I just checked this with the latest version of Opera (35.0.2066.92) and the advanced settings are turned on. Under the Browser -> Network option right above the button labelled "Change Proxy Settings..." it states: "Opera is using your computer's system proxy settings to connect to the network." But maybe reading comprehension that we're on Mac computers from the headline is too much for you. Maybe you can get a helper for that if it's too complex.

It helps the multinational corporations. If you mean benefits to you and me then no.
I've got a rock that keeps away tigers.

It exchanges your money for quarters so that you can do your laundry and is open past 4 PM so that you can actually get to it.
He should have stole lots of bills instead of lots of coins. The rules are different when you are really rich.
Or to pay off a debt to a drug dealer.
