Much of the expense is coming from trying to build one plane to be a master of all jobs for all branches of the military. There are so many requirements that they are conflicting with each other.
I think they would have been better to try and build multiple planes for the different roles needed but for all of the common parts develop them as if for one plane. Many components can be shared between the versions (weapons, radar, wheels and landing gear, tail fins, wings, nose, fuel system,...) For example the cockpit wouldn't need to be different between any versions so the plane designers would have specs for the size and wiring requirements of the cockpit. Mind you the VSTOL version probably would have some extra wiring and display options but the displays are electronic and you can build every cockpit with the extra wires. On all of the other models the wires wouldn't be connected to anything. The car industry does this sort of thing.
I don't expect to use my iOS device as a normal computer. They were designed to be different devices with a different workflow and I'm happy to use them that way. If I need a computer then I'll use my computer. I haven't found apps for iOS that are good enough to replace desktop versions. Most of that is the limitations of the touch interface. For example, say I want to mark 50 of 300 RSS articles read. On the desktop it's quickly done with a click of the mouse, moving down to the other item, and a shift click to highlight the 50 items. There's no corresponding shift click on tablets so one is left with clicking all 50 items individually. I have a few news feeds that have a couple of 100 items a day and I don't always have time to read everything at one time.
I've gotten past the time where I want to hack into everything to make them work. I used to be into Linux in a big way. But for the last 10 years I've had a Mac desktop because for the most part things work and when it doesn't, or the UI can't do things, I can go into a shell and let my UNIX background get my work done. It's been the solution for me, it doesn't sound like the solution for you. And that's fine. I don't want to convert you.
That sucks. There are some companies in Ontario that let you put panels on your roof without paying. They basically lease your roof for 20 years and pay your $500 to $600 a year. It all depends on how many panels they can put on. They take care of any maintenance and even remove and reinstall the panels for no charge for no charge if you have to re-shingle the roof. After 20 years you get the system. That's because we have a feed in tariff and this is great if you can't afford a system on your own or don't want to do the paperwork. If you have your own system you have to register for a sales tax number because you are selling electricity into the grid. (You don't really need it because you are under the threshold but if you buy your own system you can get the sales tax back by registering since the sales tax is a VAT.) You are definitely better off if you can afford to buy the system yourself.
My iPhone 5s was released Sept. 20, 2013 and will be receiving updates until at least next Sept.
I never understood why they segmented the Android market so much. It would have been better for consumers if Google had a core that could be updated from Google and the various phone manufacturers put their custom software on top. There could be some system that would prevent roll-outs until the manufacturer tested any updates to the core on their phones. If they stopped checking then the update would go to the customer directly but with a huge warning about the phone/apps not working. The phone would need a way to restore the previous system easily.
The whole fragmentation and not knowing when/if updates are coming is preventing me from checking out Android. That, plus all they seem to be pushing is the large phones, like Apple. I know what my handle says but Apple is moving away from their roots. I used to like the iPhone because it was intuitive and easy to use. But with each new "feature" they are making it more difficult to use. Instead of designing to make things easy to use in any situation they are building their apps and phones for certain use cases. I don't fit in their use cases. It didn't matter before. Now it does. And so Apple has gone from what I want to use to being just the best of the bunch.
I think it's how you are brought up. If you are given a variety right from the time you start eating then you enjoy eating them later on. I only ate very few when growing up (it was a meat and potatoes family) and it's taken me a long time since leaving my parents to start appreciating other fruit and vegetables. But I'm glad that I'm trying new things because I recently found one of my favourite dishes. It's asparagus fried (well, the water from it steams it as you put the cover on the pan) with a glaze of maple syrup that you put on halfway through. It's real maple syrup and it takes away the sharpness from the taste of the asparagus.
This is where I never liked IQ tests because you had to think like the person giving the test. C could also be correct because it isn't considered as "American" food. Yes, the obvious answer that they want is B but someone who thinks differently could give another answer and be just as correct yet marked wrong.
I know that on/. it's not fashionable to actually read the article so here's a quote:
Fiorina acknowledged she complied with Hayden’s request, redirecting trucks of HP computer servers that were on their way to retail stores from a warehouse in Tennessee to the Washington Beltway, where they were escorted by NSA security to the gates of agency headquarters in Fort Meade, Md.
What does the website get out of this? Sounds like nothing. You've taken all of their ads away and put yours in which you keep the money. The website isn't getting the money from the ad. The user is going to think if they click on the ad that the website might benefit.
I was thinking that AdBlock might change their model so that they offer a free version that blocks everything except for one standard size ad. It wouldn't be a Flash or JavaScript on. Just a simple image banner ad. AdBlock would get money by offering a paid upgrade which would allow the user to remove that ad. This way at least the website gets a little bit of revenue from the free version.
Your actions are measured right or wrong based on the current situation. The previous actions of other people don't have any impact on the morality of yours. It doesn't matter if you are waterboarding a baby or a serial killer it is still wrong. Torture is torture.
Well the problem is that there are so many entries. There are almost 2600 entries just for fractures. Who knows how many entries are going to going to be pulled up when you search for femur. Or are you going to force the user to search for 'fractured left femur' just to limit the number of results down to a manageable number.
I forgot to mention this in my previous post but they are trying to capture everything is a single code. So if they give a patient a dose of charcoal to deal with a poisoning there are a number of possible codes for the treatment depending on the cause (accidental, suicidal, unknown, etc). I think that this is wrong too. You only need one code here to deal with the actual treatment. Then you have another code with the case that specifies the reason for the treatment. This would cut down on a lot of codes. There has to be a lot of duplication of codes because they are trying to capture the reason for the treatment in with the treatment itself. So for the ways that a person would try to commit suicide those treatment codes would be duplicated. They would have added suturing the forearm due to a suicide attempt along with other common causes such as accidental.
I was going to buy something from the US but the company only used a reshipper. It was going to cost $15US to ship to the reshipper and another $75US to send it to Canada for an order of about $160US. I did a quick check and with the same shipping company I could get a parcel from my place to theirs for $40 Canadian. I wrote them and politely let them know that they lost the sale because of their shipping policy. It's no good just not buying from them. If you don't let them know that they are missing out on sales then they won't make policy changes.

today.
Besides, if crap behaviour could put a games hurt a company then EA would have been out of business a long time ago.

It said 30% better than their current panels, not SunPower's panels. Their current panels are around 17% efficient.

It's an effective cheese delivery system.
Well, if they were processed I'd agree with you. I make my own burgers and would have no problems giving them to a child.
I've got a cat that likes lettuce.
Gawd, you probably think Fosters is good beer too.
Clippy?
The idea is to patent it and build a company around the idea. The patent protects you while going around looking for funding.
Don't be a douche and leave the snow on the roof. When you drive it just blows onto the car behind you. It's polite to sweep it off before you leave.
And I have my doubts about the generous qualifier.

As if I would submit an idea to them. I'd patent it and make a lot more money than any prize through them.

Well, it would have sucked for the stores when their orders suddenly got delayed because the computers got shipped to the NSA instead of them.
Yes, to them a small government is just a larger military industrial complex and nothing else.
