I like how the wikipedia article specifies that this math problem is known as the German Tank Problem in the *English-speaking* world.
Apparently, the math worked.
They meant literal forums where people discuss/chat.
Uh.. no they didn't. If you think the ACLU is advocating that private KKK message boards be forced to allow all (legal) speech, then you don't know the ACLU very well.
In this context, "forum" means virtual place where an exchange, one-way or two-way, of ideas takes place. It means the Internet, and includes web pages, FTP sites, email servers, etc. It's important to note also that the ACLU is talking about the freedom of the site/host publishers/admins, not members. They are not talking about discussion within a particular domain, but discussion between domains (and IPs).
I think the ACLU is referring to the freedom of expression of the sysop, not the forum members. The sysop is expressing his tyranny, or whatever, but the ISP is (in theory) squashing his access out and other's access in.
" When exactly do we achieve sentience?"
I'm not sure, but that's the day the sentient robots fear.
"Dear Asimov..... GroundNet has achieved sentience."
OK, fair point in general, but I'd still say that in this case the monitor is more advanced than a sheet of paper.
But maybe you meant, "More advanced" != "Better". But of course then we get into the realm of subjectivity.
So let me get this straight. People are customizing their more advanced technology to conform to the standards of their less advanced technology? I know old habits die hard, but this still seems backwards to me.
"why be selective?"
Because EA is not worried about losing Taliban sales. They are, on the other hand, very worried about losing sales to Red Blooded American Patriots Who Hate The Taliban And Will Not Buy Anything Bearing Their Name.
so why wouldn't you use one if you have the budget and know how?
Those are two pretty big ifs for a lot of SMBs, including the one where I'm responsible for this stuff. I got my job because I was the most computer savvy person in the office (not saying much), and I managed to convince that my ability to write elementary macros in Excel and simple SQL queries made me qualified to manage a ~40 workstation, 4 server network. God help me if anything serious happens.

And any half-decent torrent client is different how?
To maintain the exemplary journalistic standards already displayed in the Google Tax story.

And if it weren't for their paywall, perhaps someone could correct them.

Weibe is the everyman character we all identify with and Mitchell has an abrasive personality that make for an excellent film.
I think part of the reason most people like Weibe so much is his strong resemblance to Mal Reynolds.
