When the GP said "They" I believe he was referring to Nintendo itself. So the shovelware doesn't apply since the "budget studios" aren't Nintendo. Shovelware may be available on Nintendo systems, but it's not made by Nintendo itself
I don't know where the "2 millions" came from regarding iPads, but yeah looks like it's not 7 million iPads. It's 7 million iPads IN Q4 2010 ALONE. I could findsources, about how many iPads have been sold, but you'll just ignore them because they don't fit with your vision.
I think that Apple will compete just fine, Flash is one thing, but as far as "controlling their own devices", a lot of people (the majority?) DO NOT CARE.
Please show me sources where Android is selling far better in tablets (remember the actual article is about tablets).
When you can't, you'll just accuse me of being an Apple fanboy. If I were, it's pretty strange that I own an Android phone, and would sooner get an Android tablet than an iPad.
If you're calling hard (though not impossible) to upgrade a defective product, please show me a non defective Android device.
Even Google's Nexus One STILL hasn't even gotten Gingerbread.
Because if it doesn't appeal to the masses it won't sell (doesn't even have to be #1). If it doesn't sell, then there are less likely to be people developing for it. If there aren't many people developing for it, then what's the point of the product?
Because those Telcos that have a monopoly in many areas of the US have nothing but the interests of their customers in mind and would be the ideal situation to let them do whatever they want?
Don't give input to how they can improve the design, no, insist that they double the workload by supporting two versions.
Any change is bad! Get off my lawn!
Just because something is (F(L))OSS doesn't mean you have to say so in the program name. Microsoft's version isn't called "Closed Office" or "Commercial Office".
The majority of people don't care that a program is open source, and those that do, already know.
If you've used the default Ubuntu Desktop installation, then you've used GNOME (panels). Unity, the interface for this tablet (and default desktop interface in the version coming in April), is built with touch in mind.
So much entitlement here from people who outright block ads.
Do you have any idea how much websites are paid for via advertising? Hell/. LOVES Google, where did they get their money from again?
I seriously would love to see an online world with no ads just to watch most sites be put behind a paywall or some other way of recouping the money no longer received from advertising. Then everyone here with their entitlement complex would complain about that too. Of course every little be of digital data should be free. I'm entitled to it! To hell with paying those who created it or maintain it.
The launcher on the left has a few features, one of which is auto-hide
If that's not good enough, you could, I dunno, switch to the classic GNOME Panel GUI in Ubuntu at GDM rather than doing an entirely different distro
I wonder how you feel about GNOME Shell, which even Debian would have to move to eventually
Given many phones are still on Android 2.1 or earlier, the question is if Google gets a patch made, would the vendors/telcos bother to apply it and push it out to their phones?
As long as there are Nexus phones, and considering those are the phones Google itself uses, I don't see those going away any time soon.

I think the GP is upset about the LACK of change. As in, why is it still Bill Gates when he hasn't been CEO in over a decade?
Also you're whining about slashdot users, so I guess "If you don't like it, there's the door"
People don't all have the exact same needs and desires? Preposterous!

I think more relevant would be: "When new users are getting Android 3.1 and you're still on 3.0 will you still be happy?"

And 7 Million + people don't care
Galaxy Tab 2 Million SHIPPED (sales numbers are debatable, but for the sake of your argument lets say they sold every one) Apple iPad 7 Million SOLD
The 2005 Discovery Channel show It Takes a Thief?
The less water the better! You know how many deaths per year are attributed to water?
How dare Google fake my honest search results for "hiybbprqag"

If I created a car that got unlimited miles per gallon that doesn't mean it can go the speed of light.
So if I make a proprietary door with no documentation, it won't function because I've made a door that can't be open...
This would have MUCH more impact if FireFox was going to pull support for it, instead of Chrome doing so.
Firefox doesn't support it in the first place.
Because Linux programs never ask for newer versions of libraries...

Android and Gmail are funded/fund ads, but something that plugs into your TV to get content (which of course has ads) isn't??
