Agree, but they should be careful doing so. It is the quality of their search engine which made them what they are today. Rigging results could be a slippery slope for them. Today it may just be their services. Then their partners. Then their partners' partners. Then they start black-listing their partners' competitors etc. How much rigging will people put up with?

To be fair, they point to different articles which happen to be on the same subject. The first was all about the jump and links so we could watch it, the second is all about the tech behind the jump. Personally I liked both posts. You are absolutely correct. Ten years ago I was forced to deal with them on behalf a government agency I worked for. Getting anything useful out of them requires $$$$$$$$$ and more $$$$$$$$$. $90,000 for a single membership to be precise. Or $150,000 for a premium membership. Like most people who get promoted out of tech roles into management, the people I worked for couldn't hand over the cash quick enough for the chance to hear wild and mostly unfounded predictions about the future of IT. It never ceases to amaze me that Gartner have survived this long.

Since your clicking finger may be broken, here is a relevant section of the article to help you out:

To find the ice, a rover thus must operate as close to the dark poles as possible, but not so far that it can't use solar arrays for power, Whittaker said. Polaris thus has three large solar arrays, arranged vertically to capture light from low on the horizon. The solar arrays will be capable of an average of 250 watts of electrical power.

Funny how they did actually consider this before designing a multi-million dollar robot. It looks like maybe they did complete Physics 101.
