For all intensive purposes the universe is a perpetual motion machine. Yah enthalpy and all that will eventually slow down everything, but we wont be around to see it.
Has there been an incident where a terrorist has hidden a bomb in his small intestine? Is it really a viable business strategy to hide drugs within your body in order to get them crossed the border. I cannot believe that there is enough free space in a persons body to hide a profitable amount of drugs.
If you havn't noticed, one of Google's intents is to make the browser you go-to place for all your needs (kinda makes sense with their business plan). And honestly i think that it is a worthy goal. This way people can make cross-platform applications and a way to distribute them all on one platform.
Ok so I can understand why they would want to have a supercomputer or 2. They must have a lot of computational work being done (building nuclear weapons is pretty technically demanding stuff, so I have heard). But of all the reasons to have a supercomputer the summary states.
But after the Stuxnet attack, Iran may be trying for an IT comeback via supercomputing
Comeback via supercomputing? What does that even mean?

I consider it a 'gateway linux'. It has the usability that anyone coming from windows can pick it up and use it. However the hard-core Linux users will usually like to play around with many different operating systems until they find one they like. I have suggested Ubuntu to many of my friends just cause its easy to install and play around with. None of us were born as Linux Vets, (except Linus Torvalds, he may have come out of the womb designing the kernel in his head).
Your misunderstanding what Geohot is fighting about. If you read http://geohot.com/ he is not about pirating games. He is about using his own hardware however he wants to. If you want to support Geohot's ideals, don't supports some teens piracy, throw Linux on the PS3 and teach the teen how to make his own web/file server using the PS3.
Who would have thought a computer would win Jeopardy 10 years ago? Who thought that computers could land airplanes 10 years ago? Both are insanely complex and precise systems. Never underestimate human ingenuity and especially progress on computerized systems. If there is a need, (and I would believe saving the lives of countless needless accidents would constitute as a need) eventually someone will fill it.

In order to keep the internet safe, Microsoft has detected and is removing computers running viruses masquerading as operating systems. Those operating systems are going by the names listed below:
I'm sure this will be suppressed somehow, but this is quite appropriate in my opinion.
It would really be a shame if this news was suppressed, if only there was some whistle-blowing site that would leak this information to the general public.
I am just surprised that "Facebook and other social networking sites fall under "private documents"." From what I have witnessed, Facebook is anything but private.
