slashdot utilizes the same asinine practice of banning individuals through the process of blocking all access from the last IP address they used.

the processes is automated and rob malda claims an audit trail does not exist. once, when i reset my modem, i was denied access... i requested the ban be removed and rob malda claimed they didn't know why the IP address had been banned, and that the ban would not be lifted... so i reset my modem again so the next subscriber of the country's largest ISP would be arbitrarily blocked with no appeal by an automated system with no audit trail.

the system administrators and system architects should be ashamed.
