If your thinking of action RPG i'd recommend torchlight or some of the older infinity engine games like Baldur's Gate 2 if you have a more story-driven/strategy leaning. When it comes to adventures try The Longest Journey. You and your daughter will love it, hell you should try it even if you really ment Action-RPGs.
...with USB providing a wide range of functionality and compatibility and Thunderbolt providing extremely high bandwidth for certain applications like audio interfaces and digital audio workstation.
KRK have sued other companies in the past. Whether for infringing core cabinet designs or the yellow on black motif IANAL so i'm not sure but where is that grey line between branding and simple ergonomic, brand or technical design. Personally I think the patent would need to be far more specific in this case for it to fly but I guess that's for a judge/jury to decide.
If you look at the article both exploits took roughly 6 man weeks to find and setup. Safari's took 2 weeks for 3 researchers and IE8s took 6 weeks for 1. They are both as bad as each other really.
Izambard Kingdom Brunel didn't have to build the Great Eastern or the Clifton Suspension bridge, arguably these feats of engineering weren't required. However the act of building them is the essence of engineering itself. Its about pushing boundries with the materials at your disposal and doing things that can't be done.
The quality of Episode 1 has been discussed so many times its nearly boring as the film. Lets discuss how bad 3D technology is! I'll start. 30% less colour, ruined focal length and shot clarity. Illusionary pointy things in your face. Headaches.
Its bad.
> The official apple repair guide they released on the issue was simply; unseat the heatsink, apply copious amounts of thermal paste (with picture showing a complete topping overflowing on all four sides), re-seat heatsink and you're good to go.
I'm assuming you through that repair guide in the bin.
I honestly can;t see it i've typed on the iPad and the lack of a tactile interface makes all the difference in the world. The reason why the keyboard won;t die is exactly the same as why the mixing desk hasn't died in the audio industry. A tactile interface connects the user to what they are doing, how theya re doing it and what they have done. I honestly can't see touch screens as they are now affecting it that much.
I have read a few comments here that downplay the importance of our perception of sound when realising danger. The ear plays a massive role in our perception of our environment from the location of objects through binaural location. The location of a sound source via the difference in the frequency spectrum in the left and right ear as well as the acceleration of a sound source through the Doppler Effect.
I welcome this legislation in many ways as it can help influence a pedestrians decision making whether they are wearing headphones or not (the discussion of the effect of in ear headphones is something the medical world should take up with the audio industry. In ear headphones have developed a situation where my generation and my childrens generation will be deaf before our grand parents, sad times but sadly no one gives shit. Yet.)
Lets not forget that an in ear headphone has very little external sound dampening and that road noise is often around 70-85dB. Louder than most people can reasonably cope with in, in ear headphones.
My only real worry with this is that traffic police are still exposed to consistent dB levels for the sake of pedestrian safety and i think that is something that needs to be considered.
Lets not forget that you have some very accomplished acousticians informing this proposal and they certainly know what is safe. New technology is one thing but I get the impression that slashdot doesn't really care what affect this technology can have.
I think your making the assumption that the majority of users should be locked in due to their knowledge of technology. Neglecting that, IMO, the vast majority want to grow into their technology and have it open up as and when they have the knowledge and confidence.
The only really impressive technique in film making these days is the 'long take' where a whole scene is shot from end to end without a tone of edits. Hard Boiled has a great long take right at the end. Personally i think photography has gone down hill in the last decade, no one seems to care about colour, light and shade anymore. Why bother when you are going to screw it all up in post anyway.
Implants have one major flaw, detonation options either we will be seeing terrorists blowing up in deparcher lounges across the world due to delays or terrorists jumping up and down and punching themselves in the kidneys in order to get their implant to work.
Sarah Palin, Daniel Dennet, Jacquline Wilson, Richard Dawkins, Tony Benn and serial murderers have all done or said something worth reading about. You haven't.
That's why you are lacking funds my friend. Kill someone and you'll get your soapbox...probably for free too.
Actually he's right he is saying that the internet does provide freedom of speech to the masses, where other media does not have that low entry point. He is also saying that the freedom of speech on the internet is being attacked by corporations and governments. Others are attacking this point rather than the whole argument. What people should be saying is that in a free market capitalist society it is very easy to start a publishing company for a political magazine that can reach millions. If a society deems it worthy enough to purchase, the product will be successful and continue to be. Free market capitalism actively encourages such behaviour, it allows corporations to start, fuck each other over and lobby government to fuck its citizens over.
I don't agree with his rhetoric but I understand what he is getting at.
Intelligent design isn't an issue of freedom of speech or its place in a school curriculum, it's its place in the biology and sciences curriculum where it should be placed in the religious education curriculum right next to the other creation myths.

It amazes me that cool stuff like this gets 60 comments and *insert apple product here* *insert apple patent here* gets 600 comments. Very sad,

They'll probably implement webOS similarly to ASUS's Express Gate and not dump windows.
We will be hard on slogans and the causes of slogans.

Lets not forget that commenting on a comment of a comment is also pretty sad....oh...damn.
Homeland Security always reminds me of the Home Guard. Good old dads army. They don't like it up 'em oh no they don't like it up 'em.
