I honestly don't think Google would do this. This sounds like it's hosted in a single data center, and a company as widespread as Google wouldn't put all their data in a single datacenter. Single point of failure and all that.
Why is pure water undrinkable? I assume by pure water you mean H2O and nothing else. The human body should be able to process that. And even if it's somehow useless to the body, we still can drink it... it's just probably not a good idea. Unless you mean that pure H2O doesn't exist, which I guess would make it undrinkable...
Is moore's law still valid? I thought I read something on slashdot (sadly don't have link anymore) that said it wasn't the case for the last few years.
I imagine that a lot of it is actually meant for backup. If I had something that size I'd partition it off into three segments, and make recursive backups. Because honestly, where are they gonna find any space to backup something that large if they do all 120 PB?
Or I suppose it could also mean the new guy said "Wait" and got brutally murdered for thinking to go against the status quo. That kind of a subtlety is more in line with the snarky slashdot comments I would expect.
Most people don't want to spend $100-$200 to get a fresh OEM windows copy on top of the $400-$700 they just spent on a laptop. Back in the day when new computers actually came with a fresh OS copy this wasn't required, but nowadays, as has been said several times before in this article's comments, most new computers come with a "restoration" disk which just restores a backup partition.
I get the feeling your post was attempting sarcasm, but in all serious: yes, yes we do. In fact we have two parties in the pocket of transnational corporations.
In our defense, generally most of the gun owners keep it above the fireplace or in a cabinet until they go hunting. The general population of the US doesn't go walking around with a loaded weapon on their person.
Women are attracted to confidence (not trying to be sexist here, Cracked.com said it and that's good enough for me). Not confidence like beating your chest and dumping a dead elephant at her feet, but exuding confidence. Likely on days when you don't want to have anything to do with women you feel more confident in your dealings with them (since you know EXACTLY what you want at that moment). They are ironically attracted to this. I've heard many times from guys who have complained "why do all these women want me now that I finally got a girlfriend, why didn't they want me before?". Same reason.
Not all women are like this. Maybe some are still stuck in that highschool mentality even through college (and a very rare few keep it after college) but I've met quite a few who don't have the mentality you describe.
I showed up to my interview in shorts, t-shirt (though not tie-die), long hair and beard, and two years later I still work at the place. Then again this IS in santa cruz, hippy capital of the world, so that may have had something to do with it.
You're using the java api, certainly, but that makes you a developer, not a user. Just like the architect is using the laws of physics to design a door, but that doesn't make them an end-user. It makes them an architect. (yes it's a weak analogy I know but it's the best I could come up with)
You need to add your destructor calls in all the right places, taking into account all possible program flows. Any mistake results in a memory leak or a crash.
Personally I think this causes people to write better code, forces programmers to think ahead when they are developing, to avoid those problems, and in general improves the skill of the programmer.
I think the whole point of a zombie cookie is that it can survive the "save until reboot" option, though someone please correct me if I'm wrong about that.
I see them everywhere, but then again I do work in a tech hub near silicon valley... That may have something to do with it. I saw a bus with a QR code on it go by the other day. Though that struck me as a little pointless because it was moving too fast for me to track with the reader.

So they built this for YOU?
Going by that idea, people are still going through intelligence gathered back in Roman times....

Wouldn't you still need to have your phone in direct contact with the charger though? I wouldn't want to wear my phone on my shoe.
Um... why would this be any harder to confiscate than a normal charger?
Feels pretty damn good to have a steady paycheck

Someone just opens their mouth and says nothing for the whole meeting.

talk to other people like they are people ( versus sex objects, etc ).
Some people actually DO treat others like sex objects, so avoiding that would be hiding a part of their personality.
Java != JS

Is that a bad thing?
They don't, but knowing makes it much easier for them to run targeted ads. It gives them an increased possibility of a sale.

Hulu has "HalfBreeds Gone Wild"?
