See, thats were your wrong.. I will tell you have a social-engineering attack I did on a certain orginizatino (yes, it was legal, the IT department got me to do it).

Firstly, I got to know some of the higher-up staff members.. then, one day, I went into his office with my laptop to 'show him something'. Blugged into his ethernet port, and was able to sniff all packets, and redirect SSH using the MITM attack. After the hour I was there, I had root access to almost all servers (it was a carefuly chosen day when the upgrade the software on each box).

But, since they ahve several networks vlan'd, if the network port I got was very high, and hence if I had of plugged into 'any old lan' I wouldnt have been able to do what I did.

That is an example of how socail engineering can work.

  17. loki's installers on Compatibility Issues Across Linux Distributions? · · Score: 1

anyone that has bought a loki game in the recent passed will know of there installer. It is a shell script which unzips and installs the game. It runs on any linux distro, and also installs an uninstall app (the app serves all loki games).

something like that, imho, would be the best way to approach a cross-platform installation..

talk to loki (or but a game or two) for more info on it.

this way, everything would be almost to slow todo, except for the old schoolers that are used to there old 200bps modems..
now, everyone else decides to drop the internet, and we only have several people using it now..

then we will let it grow... but what will happen? i reckon itl end up like it is now.. again.
    (a) some people see a chance for it making money
    (b) they set up a 'bsp' or bird service provider
    (c) this bsp has a user base of about 20
    (d) several other small bsp's start. they hub together in a very unordered and unplanned fation, where each bird goes to a particular address, in its memory. unfortunatly the memory of pigioeons only holds 5, pengiuns actually hold 7.
    (e) someone decides that the Australian's (me) want bird access.. and trains some pigeons to travel between us and au. Unfortunatly, most pigeons die because of the over loaded packages they are carying, bird loss is at 90%
    (f) after a decade or so, despite its slowness, bird net is rocking along, with a whole 1000. Since the memory of a bird is maxed at 7 address', they have to start again. and where back to square one.
