Ok, im a linux user, dont use windows at all - but i used to.. Im heading back to school in a few days, and Hemos' post made me think, even though there are many (5 viable) options in the linux world of office suites - which one is most complete, fast, compatable - compared to MS Office - from my experience they all have there downfalls, which one do you use?

i find it just easier to have something not in my httpd path like "/usr/local/apache/php-inc" and shove them all there, makes it alot easier to manage, just set that as a default include path then you dont have to worry about "include/home/httpd/html/dodgephp/dascrip/database.inc" just "include database.inc":-)
or, if your l33t and all your web pages use some database stuff have it always include database.inc (in php.ini):-)

actually, the site in questoin checks for a ie specific java tag, if it doesnt work, it forwards..
so that'd require a rewrite of each engine for each masq'd browser

on 80min cd's (700mb) thats 114 cd's = $125 for good quality BASF cd's.
on a 4x (most common burner) taking 20min for each 80min cd, + 2 min for swapping/labeling/etc that s 2508 minutes, also known as 41 hours, where you cant sleep.
Hows that for backing up? I think not!

I live in Australia, and I think it is probably one of the best places to live.. I know alot of people from all over the world, US, canada, europe, asia etc. Whenever any of them come to Australia they think its heaven.
Our political system is highly democratic, and if theres the slightest sign of a brake in deomcracy its noticed immediatly and the people will NOT tollerate it.
To add to that, we have a large multi cultural back ground, people from all around the world, its great!.
The only thing that i find a problem is sometimes some of the political members seem a bit mentally challenged when it comes to the IT sector, but you get that...

Goto an IRC channel, not a large one - eg dont hop onto efnet or dalnet, goto something local (For me, thats ozorg) - try openprojects - #linpeople or #debian or #redhat etc..
ask your question and someone can probably help.. but ignore people who say things like 'thisl fix it: rm -rf/' (that will kill ur entire linux install, and possibly windows!)

As an Australian aswell... i think that the libreral government is completely nutted in the technology sector, they know nothing except to do what the big guys tell em to!
so, who do we want? well givven how bad Howard is.. i dont think Biesly can be any worse, so next election, vote 1 labor.. i guess:-)

eg, xtheater, i use it to play all my divx's and asfs.. its avaiable here
and if your wondering, a good mpeg player is mptv, here - the back end thing is free, but the front end is not free, but there is a SDK for it.. so if an opensource person would like to write a descent frontend, thatd be good!

If you want a REAL way to play Counter-Strike under linux, you are best to do it with OpenGL. Look at my post furthur down, for the link to THE linux Half-Life site: http://lhl.linuxgames.com. HOWTO is made for OpenGL users, and theres also a forum there to avoid my inbox filling with questoins:-).

I hear that Tribes 1 also runs well under wine, but im yet to try it out. More available "wine success stories for games" are available here. Although its slightly outdated.

mod it up people.. if we found GPL'd code in M$ software, itd mean that M$ would have to GPL all there software, thus making it legel for us to use there stuff in samba/wine:-)
