Fun trivia fact: I've seen Ep IV in excess of 100 times (I actually counted up to ~70, then stopped once I got my 1st VCR as a mid-teen & recorded it off the tv, then watched it every odd weekend for a couple years. I'm not proud of that, just curious if anyone else can cite similar OCD fandom heh.
ROFL! Yuppers. They only had 3 long movies to show Vader's fall from grace & Lucas totally, utterly, fucked it up. Instead we got 367 new aliens, 543 light sabre fights, 234 new locations, 1000+ costumes & gadgets, 27 different short stories badly told AND a love story that was just...uncomfortable to watch.
On the upside, we got Samuel L Jackson (nuff said mutha-fucka!) & McGregor as young Obi-Wan (hard to think of a better fit really) + Neeson is always a pleasure to watch.
Again, just watch Mr Plinkett's reviews - solid gold & far more entertaining than most of eps 1-3.

Anecdotal examples: I can play Wolfenstein or Doom in DosBox on my S2 for *free*. Does IOS even allow you to run an emulator of any kind or natively browse/manipulate files lol? Or just drag/drop a media file straight over a wifi file share from your main PC?
Let's just say my last & one & only experience with trying to copy a simple ebook to a fucking iPhone costed me several hours of wasted time. Try setting up an Apple ID or appstore/iTunes without a CC, then syncing a non-std file like an ePub using iTunes just wouldn't work no matter what this IT pro of 30years tried, not to mention needing a 700MB iTunes update on a phone that was only 4months unused at that stage, which took all night; and THEN still not wanting to sync that fucking 20K epub file after trying 20 diff ways *sigh*....just emailed it to my gmail & got it out as an attachment in the end. NEVER again!!!

I don't think being sued by your customer makes most suppliers feel special. LIkewise, SW:TESB is most diehard SW fan's favourite movie in the original trilogy, in no small part due to being a lot darker & adult than the others AND because there is a fantastic cliffhanger at the end. Not to mention the whole 'I am your father' reveal & where that's going to go. AND the 'I love you...I know' bit for the romantics (which Family Guy re-did soooo much better!:).
There is nothing wrong with exercising a bit of delayed gratification, instead of all the 'instant' kind that this ADD Y-Gen is running rampant with.
OTOH, you could argue the opposite case with examples such as Firefly and Space:Above & Beyond, to name a couple sci-fi shows which got canned much too early *sniff*. Also, Enterprise, Atlantis & B5 for my liking, though they had a longer run at least.
Anyway, I prefer series to movies or trilogies/sequels. It's nice to imagine/hope some continuity is possible when most other things end, especially these days. Hey, if Days of Our Lives & Bold can do it for 20+ years, why the hell can't we have a sci-fi soapie that just keeps on keeping on ffs?

Should just make it back to trestle table with cold eski & beers with the juice I have left...running on vapours. Redneck 5 out.
Lucas couldn't tell a coherent story if he was only given one good one to choose from. Instead, his cadre of yes-men are probably who's responsible for the egotistical results of eps 1-3. Not satisfied with telling just 1 or 2 good stories in each movie, he decided to tell 5-10 in 2+hrs & totally confuse the audience, while losing all continuity, character development/association & compelling storyline, thus alienating the viewer totally. Then he packed in as many OTT light-saber fights & action sequences as he could cram into 24fps film lol! It's like he looked at all the core rules/principles of good story telling over the last 100 years of movie-making (& written works going 100s of years further back) & decided to not just throw them out completely, but do something totally *different* in all the possible different ways, just to be...well, different!
Mr Plinkett does a far better expose of the madness than I ever could, so please, enjoy the ride if you haven't watched his reviews before boyz n girlz!;)
