    This is merely a mechanism to share what one mega-company has found "extreme" with another.

    If we're really lucky, this will cause some folks to (shudder) lose a bit of respect for these places people spend their lives.

    The important takeaway here, if we're keeping things in perspective, is Thank Goodness! quality and safety are hardly ever compromised by manufacturers for fun and profit.

  10. A single Google search leads me to believe this a common contention in the debate pitting Islam vs. Christianity.

    The separation of church and state is a pretty big deal because of the multitude of present and past examples of intolerance and abuse by those in power,

    but I'd disagree with you if you don't think the Christ-worshippers would like to change the American culture.

    Based on how I understand the teachings of Islam, being muslim excludes you from being anything else. It is their job, their purpose, to spread Islam and the Sharia law to every corner of the globe. Do you want America to remain the culture it is today? Islam - and by extension (an unknown sized subset of) muslims - does not.

    In every way, your statement is equally correct with Christianity and Christian substituted for Islam and Muslim.

    Even the US government is trying very hard to follow in China's footsteps.

    Are you certain it's not the other way around? Even a powerful, centralized, government like the one in China can only run around and stomp the boot on so many necks.

    How they must marvel at the western democracy that mostly allows for free speech, and yet the rich and powerful keep their things and power.

    Yes, and there has to be some skewing effect by a sample group that has the time and inclination to participate in these studies and clinical trials.

    It would seem unlikely that high-functioning marijuana users would be able to participate in the same numbers as their under-performing kindred peers.

    As with all things that alter mood and consciousness, the devil's in the dosage. These results, even if accurate, reflect heavy, long-term use by people predisposed to sit for studies.

    Even alcohol and pain meds are more effective when used sparingly.

    It may be possible to mitigate this problem and the larger conundrum of radiation damage to humans off planet.

    We will need to evolve ways to engineer truly tougher humanoids before somethjing stops our scientific progress.
