and forego the billions of dollars it makes by having closed systems. I'm not a fan of apple, but as a business, keeping your products so tightly intertwined is the best thing you can do to continually sell products and accessories.
If you go to an open architecture, the only way you make money is from licensing, and manufactures in china will completely ignore this and screw you over.
There is a company that does that has been doing this very well for decades, Microsoft any one?
so your saying I can get small schools to buy huge enterprise class equipment, at retail prices, and not install them! Most publicly funded institutions get huge discounts on this stuff, so there is even more profit to be made.
Section 351 already makes it illegal for anyone to wear a disguise to commit an indictable offence, which one expert told the committee made Richards's bill unnecessary.
It just seems a little redundant, if your in a riot, committing crimes, and wearing a mask your already in a world of shit, why not just amend the already existing law?
Vendors will supply their own software to play them with the added crap that comes with windows. System Builders will use readily available codec , and tablets without DVD drives wont need it any way. XP did not come with a way to play DVD's unless you purchased software so this is not much of a change.
and with the millions of dollars they are paid, how many of them donated to research? Football is modern day gladiator fighting, they are paid to kill each other on the field of battle, not to tickle each other. this is a job hazard and you have have to accept that, if it wasn't you wouldn't be paid as much.
On April 24th, the FBI quietly returned the server, without notifying either Mayfirst / People Link or riseup, and were caught on video doing it.
what kind of no security operation are they running at this datacenter? The last place i worked , to get in the datacenter required a thumb reader, to get into the clean room, that then detected if more than one person had entered and would not let you past that door untill the other door was closed and no other people were in the clean room, and it was ALWAYS staffed to see people coming and going.
For just random people to come in , take a server, then put it back later with out any one knowing is some where i would never store my server.
is funded by the public, there for should be accessible by the U.S. public. Over seas countries should have to pay a fee for using the technology. done and done
The stock price will sky rocket on the ipo, then drop off a bit a week later (as have others). by this time next year the price will be one third of what people will pay May 18, unless they go the MySpace route and die a slow death.

its a pain in the ass to install most thing on linux, example:
MAC - search google for program, download it open DMG file, drag pretty icon some where. good to go
Windows - search google for program, download it, double click it, accept spyware, malware, good to go.
linux - search google for program, download rpm file, download it, double click it....nothing rpm's are not for ubuntu
-search google again for a dpk file, download file, double click it, "missing lib.xxx.xx"
-search google for lib.xxx.xx, find a tutorial to use apt-get
open a command prompt
apt-get program'
invalad command
apt-get install program
you must be root to do that
sudo apt-get install program
bunch of stuff happens
do you want to install all this stuff?
yes
installs > complete.
......
search google "how to run program i just installed"
no it will continue, its just business. relations between companies are not the same as relations between humans (or in-case sub-humans), the part of the company that made the deal on the Nook, does not work with the part that made the lawsuit.
This is a valid point. For example, let say I, myself not being affiliated with any mulit-billion dollar company come up with a great idea and file a patent. In the time it would take me to find investors , create prototypes, test prototypes, create alpha , beta and a final release of the product, some one with massive amounts of cash on hand can hire an army of people to do all this is a quick turnaround time and send it to market. Or even release a very crappy version of my idea an thus giving the public a bad example of the technology and not wanting to try something new.
Once FB goes public they will be lawfully required to turn a profit by any "lawful" means necessary, suing everyone over patent infringement is just another revenue stream, and makes them more "desirable". The problem with them holding all the cards is we don't know what those cards and if they are even worth anything.
