should be the title of this article. In a country where it is considered good to be on "The Jersey Shore" and bad to be a "Geek", its no wonder there is a economic crises. Its just amazing to see people in the unemployment line playing a game on their $600 iPad, or Driving a $70K car into a trailer park.
Actually the army core of Engineers...blows them to save Illinois towns.
http://www.cbsnews.com/2100-201_162-20059083.html Not sure why any one would want to save anything in that bankrupt shit hole state.
Of course, I'd miss my high powered sports car, but it runs on alcohol anyway, so I can always distill my own fuel for that out of biowaste if I really want to.
considering the performance of properly tuned electric car utilizes energy better than any ICE, im sure your sports car can be sold for nice vinyl decals on your electric sports car.
1. Has a vastly larger market share then LibreOffice.
2. You can get support on it though millions of forums, tech net articles.
3. Virtually no training need to introduce it in to an already existing windows echo system.
4. Its supported by coders that are paid to fix problems, not volunteers.
5. Integrates seamlessly with other Microsoft Office Products
6. Integrates seamlessly with Share Point.
7. Microsoft has been doing this for years, Libre is still "new" to the game
and im sure there are others but im tired of typing and have to get back to work.
It sounds as if your company has a poorly run IT department. To lock your self into an OS that has been posted numerous times the support would end for it is down right asinine. Even though your not the only company that has done this, its just poor planning, and poor budgeting on IT's part. You could pay for the extra support, but why? have them invest in competent employees and see the profits rise.
As far as windows 8 goes, we have no plans to upgrade to it, however windows 9 is already being discussed as a replacement.
I was just looking at a job out in London, until i compared the cost of living to where I'm am here in the US, the price of a one bedroom flat in London was 3X what I would pay here for a 1200 sq ft 3 bedroom apartment.
until institutions are held accountable for this type of data breach it will continue to happen. If the fine was lets say $1 million paid to each compromised SSN, then 2 things would happen:
1. they would spend more money on qualified individuals to protect their data
2. this would not be reported as much as they would cover it up.
I have to disagree. If your in the business of Security, just focusing on implementing PCI compliance or SOX or SEC etc. recommendations leaves you clue less to how hackers actually penetrate networks. You need to know more about what it is your running and how to mitigate other exploitable features that are not included in some compliance mandates. And the best way to learn that, get your hands dirty.
they are still hit or miss, I have had tapes become corrupted during the writing process, during a recovery process, and who knows about those tapes that have been stored offsite for 5-10 years. I hope they are recoverable. In any case It much easier for me to write to a NAS or SAN and have it replicated off site, then it is for a sequential tape recovery from an off site location.
I actually just saw a special about this, it has something to do with stem cells and if there is a issue later in life, the blood can be used as treatment, much better than donor blood and 100% compatible (because it their own blood)

Horsepower is measured at the top RPM, so while your waiting on your RPM to get up to that 900, the electric car has instant power (or horsepower, if you want to call it that) all the way through. But if you insist on using the HP analogy, the White Zombie http://www.oregonlive.com/portland/index.ssf/2010/07/zero_to_60_mph_in_less_than_3.html weight is only 2,275 pounds, Has 355 volts of energy and can generate 2,400 instantaneous amps. Convert that to 1kW = 1.34 HP accroding to http://auto.howstuffworks.com/how-does-horsepower-figure-into-electric-cars.htm and you get 852kW = 1141.68HP

I have been touting electric cars for years now as the next big thing....this makes me look like less of an eco-asshole :-P
I thought it was just an advertisement for Coke, who thought people actually competed in these things.

Just thinking about that is giving me an ulcer.
Reinserts itself

is that 20TB new data? if not id recommend looking into a de-duplication solution and cut that way down.
