Once again the legacy business model behemoth that is, well, anything from the USA it seems right now, stamps all over innovation. I bet there's hundreds of books that would be useful to me that could either not be found over here, out of print, or just plain overpriced that need some better system for handling them in this age.
That's the sort of rivalry I like. Competition between engineers tends to be good humored banter. Competition between marketeers seems to be cut throat warmongering. Shame really. It should go back to the days of jolly good what what old sport, I say good game with a touch of the old one two.
As it flies into space, everything peels off from the outer layers one by one until you get an astronaut on space hopper in the centre. Like a kinder egg, with a really expensive toy in the middle.
I saw improvements on my Vista-Firefox4 install when I updated that not long ago. The Mac version feels generally better as well, and I've been using this one since mid beta as FF3 was starting to hog down. Obviously YMMV but at the moment it feels fairly smooth for me.
So, Frequency trolling then? Then there's the "Competition breeds innovation" problem where "competition" is infact price fixing tax dodging duopolies of the "free" (to a given value of free) world. I'm glad EMEA and APAC aren't tied to (quite) the same problem as the americas, where the EU's anti-trust ban hammer actually has a little power. Far from perfect, but every little helps [grr tesco! stupid slogan].
I don't know, $100/barrel (or more) might make the amount of expendable income average families have suddenly dissappear. Then realisation of how much everything else costs should hit home. It'll take alot longer and alot more before anything happens in the U$A, but to quote a certain Smith: "It is inevitable". I'm not sure how printing more money can fix that.
Oh no I agree, this is not just a Japan problem, it just happens that there is the unfortunate place where this has occured. It's the whole reliance on out of date technology. As someone said on a previous topic, we're not still driving Model-T fords, or DC-10 or Comets for that matter. For the record, I'm a brit, and our plants are probably horridly out of date too.
Part of the problem is that reactor is an older design whereby it even needed generators, whereas newer ones do not need to be made "actively" safe. This design should really have been decommissioned and replaced by something more capable of standing up to the earth opening up beneath it. The reasons why it wasn't replaced I don't know, nor if it Should have been (best guess is it should). The removal of needing generators to actively cool the plant remove one of it's major single-points-of-failure.
That's the thing, this is just one more straw on the camel's back that will eventually break. At the moment I think the only near certainty is that your country will eventually go all 'Egypt' on itself. The question is when.
It would be interesting to run a money instutition based on loaning money you actually Have, and publically displaying loan transactions, in and out on a minute by minute basis. Is there such thing as a LawfulGood bank, and could one be made?
Maybe, but he at least understands what a working business model of today is that doesn't involve making half your income by sueing everyone around you.
Dude, don't be silly, those damn antennas they planted just won't stand still! You must have missed the Clearwire support technician chasing your misbehaving antenna across a field with a whip until it sat back where it belonged. If you can't figure that out with why they told you to move your router I don't know. You should look to purchase some Clearwire binoculars to spot a misbehaving antenna as it moves across the countryside. They have even taken time to scratch some of the paint off the lenses so you can see too!
Yeah good luck with that, let me know how it goes. Love, everyone else.

Yeah, who is that guy?!
"Meet at Tienanmen Square for big party. Bring lots of fireworks and party poppers. We are going to show the government just how much we like them"

They're all over it...(Currently winning the $nDownloads race in Europe)
That's okay, you're not missing much. It may even be seen as an undocumented feature instead.
Oh that's rather pretty, and neat too.

I think this comic just about covers it: http://satwcomic.com/don-t-panic
Dinosaurs can't read, and there's a whole lot of "past" to aim it at.

Are you sure you're not popping your tyres on the exessive ammount of exclamation marks that are nearby? I hear they're quite sharp.

Oh that's interesting. Quick find here http://www.wlns.com/Global/story.asp?S=14244920 but there must be more elsewhere.
3/14 is the third day in the fourteenth month.
Not in the real world it's not.

Sorry, I forgot my sarcasm tags.

He'll also raise the average IQ by a phenomenal amount.
