you'd still be at fault because one of your hands wasn't on the wheel.
So, by your argument, if I was ever in an accident it would automatically be my fault because I drive a stick shift that requires you to drive with one hand regularly?
While many safety organizations agree that 2 handed driving is the safest way, there is no law that says you have to.
Veterans have health care because they have through their service earned access to that care, either through service related injuries or as a condition of completing a full career in service to the country. It's part of the packge. By the way retired service members have to pay helathcare premiums too so it's not free for them either.
You would be hard pressed to find people that say healthcare shouldn't be accessable. The issue is thay many feel they shouldn't have to pay for other peoples healthcare which is what the affordable care act and the new Republican plan both still do in some form (via taxes).
It boils down to personal responsiblity vice goverment social/handout programs.
New models are available on Amazon for under $100 and you can find used older models that supposedly still work for as low as $33 (though they will cap out at the WAN port speed of 100MB).
Verizon's cable boxes need network access - which you can provide using your network equipment if you use a MoCA bridge like this one:
You actually don't even need your own box if you just want the internet side and not TV. Since I am moving to an area with Fios I started looking into it, and all you really need is to have Verizon cut you over to the Ethernet port on the demarc box instead of the COAX. This site walks you through the basics.
El Paso Electric for one, which while being situated in one of the sunniest places in the United States and claims to be a leader in moving to solar, just managed to push a fee through the state regulatory board that allows them to collect a penalty charge from people who have solar on their homes because they are not paying for enough of the energy that that "should be".
Estimates put drone gifts for Christmas this year at somewhere around a million for North America. I'm not worried about the guy that's been doing all of the great things that you reference. I'm worried about the not insignificant portion of those million untrained people (including unsupervised children that are not know for making great decisions) that get their drone and suddenly think it's a great idea to go out and see how close they can get to the aircraft landing at their local airport.
Over a 10 year period from 1990 - 2000 only 175 people were killed by airbags while over 28,000 saved lives can be attributed to the addition of the airbag to the seatbelt. There are also a huge amount of people who still think that seatbelts don't apply to them, and an airbag might actually save them. While we could argue for the cleansing of the gene pool, I'll still take those odds.

And then you and everyone else stops going there and their buisiness goes toes up. As a general rule, you don't stay in buisiness and make money when you fraud your customers. How many times have you picked the 3-star vendor with crappy feedback over the 5-star one?
It's even easier than that. Many "barracks" today are actully dorms, often with single or shared rooms and semi-private bathrooms. Men and women already live in the same building.
Actually the cell coverage in Afghanistan was getting pretty good compared to wired phones. The infrastructure just to make the leap to wireless for a developing country is a lot cheaper
Canada is certainly feeling a new sense of self importance dictating decisions for the whole world.
the car is either self driving or not
Tesla did not do themselves any favors with the name. 'Enhanced cruise control' or something similar as a name would have gone a long way.

Sure, but it doesn't get to be free.

Great! Now I can hook my Windows Media Center PC right up to my TV and . . . Oh, wait. Never mind.

So you are valuing the Clippers at $0?
Doesn't pretty much everybody?
At a price, of course.
You already paid the price as the willing Google/Youtube ad tracked person.
What's this reading comprehension thing you keep talking about. Is that something I can get with a Computer Science degree?
Not really. They can just go and modify the Wikipedia page to conform to their opinion.
