Ni MH Batteries also overheat whilst charging.
When NiMH batteries first apeared we who used them commercially had to purchase all new chargers for them. The batteries have a nasty habit of overheating whilst charging, the chargers have a built in thermistor system to cut off the charging current if this occures.
As someone pointed out in an earlier post, if aftermarket manufacturers want to save a few cents then............

Most people I know are getting sick to the back teeth of what has become known as the greed machine. If the little people are ever going to stand in the face of this monster then we have to learn to stand together, it seems that the IT world being one of the youngest, brightest and most flexible communities is leading the way. One can only hope that the same models can be as effective in food production, environmental recovery etc.

I thought all the rubbers got flushed actually, I used to work at a sewerage works, we had millions of retreads to choose from.
Interestingly enough here in Darwin Australia the radio presenter's don't even announce the time anymore. Seems we are swamped with clocks.
