Oh, and speaking of confounds, the increasing use of plastic surgery among those that 1) have real reason to use it (true disfigurement) and 2) are just vain enough to want it (lips, cheeks, chins, breasts) will have an effect on this as well, leading to a whole new aspect of relationships. What is false advertising when it comes to body modification? Breasts are pretty easy to detect, but what about that nose which might have been bobbed? Straightened? What about those cheekbones? Teeth? All of these mods and others will confound any selection pressure and likely will increase in their statistical impact the more important "beauty" becomes to societies.
Hong Kong - A disgusted husband in northern China divorced his wife and sued her for deceit after discovering that she had had plastic surgery before they met, a news report said on Wednesday. Jian Feng became suspicious when the beautiful woman he married two years earlier gave birth to an ugly daughter last year, according to the Hong Kong edition of the China Daily. Jian, from Hegang province, demanded to know if she had been unfaithful to him and to prove her fidelity. His wife then showed him a photograph of herself taken before her cosmetic surgery. The woman had travelled to South Korea before they met and paid more than $100,000 for surgery to make her better looking, the newspaper said.
It's already happening. (sorry for the poor source, but I had heard of this happening before.)
Personally I agree with an above poster, the poor and mostly uneducated (due to financial situation unfortunately too often) breed like crazy, and for some strange reason in the U.S. the educated upper crust have a strange desire to be zero child families.
1. Golf (it's just you vs. a little damn ball) 2. Baseball (as in go outside and enjoy the sunshine, and one of the best team sports) 3. Galaga (best game ever ".") 4. Gran Turismo (any of them) (only reason I ever bought a playstation) 5. MS Solitaire (it's available on most every computer, and if the power is out, all you need is 52 cards)
Here in Washington the Microsoft Enhanced software running on the STB is utter garbage. Funny thing about it is that there recently was an update sent out to fix problems of sluggishness and unresponsiveness, and now I'm suffering from daily reboots. The sluggishness and unresponsiveness is still there.
I swear Comcast made a deal with TIVO, please for the love of all that is good switch to TIVO.
I really can only see one reason for this, minors. I personally know of a *SIX* year old in my neighborhood that should at least have Child Protective Services called on him as he as forcefully tried to molest many girls in the neighborhood. Hell there are just some bad apples out there.
However, I have to stand by the Constituion. Innocent until proven guilty. This law is very, VERY flawed.
Ok, I only read the posts that were rated 4+, but give me a break, what a bunch of whiners. Learn a little on how a cable system works and have your problems fixed. The majority of the time that a cable modem is slow is because the drop to your house is bad, the line to your cable modem is bad, or the cable modem is bad; or a combination of those.
I'll admit there are a lot of naive/lazy installers out there, but if your service is bad complain.
Have these people read the US Constitution? There may be a right to privacy, but it is not enumerated nor implied in that document. The closest you can get is the ninth and tenth ammendments, which are the two that are NEVER honored.
Have you. I would think the right to privacy is enumerated in part of the 4th Amendment. The NSA's fishing expidition may infringe on the 5th. State's rights is pretty much covered in the 10th, and unfortunatly you're pretty right on the 9th, as seen recently in the fact the right to vote for minorities had to be extended.
I use the fast forward feature to remove all the damn fluff and rehash of just about all the shows. I don't care about the recap from the previous episode, I've already seen the title sequence, and for some shows, I'm more interested in the meat, especially when it comes to reality TV.
A perfect example came with the results show from Rockstar Supernova (or Idol for that matter). I'm watching it to see the singing and that's it. End result, I watched an hour long show in about 15 minutes.
Funny how PBS hasn't said anything yet as I have yet to sit and watch a pledge drive in the middle of a show.
1. My cousin has replaced his extensive VHS collection with DVDs. His collection is over 2500 films, and he sees no point in replacing what he currently has. It looks fine on a current HD set.
2. I completely agree with the crowd that is more interested in the new DVD format for it's data storage capacity.
Damn Mice!
Well then what about this:

Hell in the 80's every single teen movie seemed to have the smartest be like the fat dude!

The #1 reason why there is no camera or microphone on my computer.
Nuff said.

As far as the telcos go, fuck em!

3. I was a BETA guy in the 80's. I'll wait.
Well I for one am not about to spend $10,000 to fill up my iPod with iTunes, I'm happy to transfer my CD collection of stuff I already own.
