I know some spores and microbes can survive the harsh conditions of space for a while, but what are the chances that those particularly tough critturs were the ones the Mars landers were contaminated with?
The English used a weapon- the longbow- that allowed them to take out the French knights before the French could get them.
Technically the French tried to charge across a muddy bog in heavy armour, they were sitting ducks once the horses got stuck, so it had less to do with longbows and more to do with a really bad tactical decision.
Nobody is an expert in everything. That's what slashdot is good at, bringing the occasional actual expert in particular fields to enlighten those of us who might be expert in other fields.
Wait, what? That's some pretty serious stuff there, prostitution/pimping is illegal in the UK, that picture alone could send him to the slammer for quite a while.
I dunno, it could be pulled off. I'm watching with great interest the rise and rise of steampunk in fashionable circles, which is the diametric opposite of the slick apple look. Replace brass cogs with copper electronics and you might have something, especially once one of the big fashion houses weigh in. And they will, in their constant search for the new.
Oh okay I think I get it - the game will be free for all to use and share upon publication, that's in the blog, issue 1. That's not much help though, I've yet to meet the ocr program that can translate my scribbles.
Absolutely, I'm delighted at this. On a much tinier scale I've been poring over the reefs of old notes I have to create the rpg in the sig there, I wish someone would offer to digitise that lot for me:/ I keep catching myself looking for the search button in the paper notebooks.
There's a lot of software that never makes it to the consumer desktop, being used for health systems, very niche SME support, embedded systems, tiny accounts packages tailored for each country or certain types of company, etc., it's a massive list. Just google "software company" for the country of interest. Or just look at Linux, written out of frustration in Helsinki because of the problems with commercial licensing of MINIX.
Pretty much, you know once they started hacking the CIA it was lights out.
When did Russia revert to communism?
Ah, that explains why my petition to save the Australian blobfish was turned down!

Its almost like the submitter had an agenda or something. Beats me what it could be though.
Has Japanese code no quality issues at all? The recent Sony hack might indicate differently, assuming they used Japanese coders for their hardware.
Will that actually change anything though?
Not yet anyway.

I'd be happier if the fighters were replaced with drones, they cost a lot less. Skynet here we come!:D

Oceans sloshing up and down by hundreds of meters in depth - not length, depth - twice a day along coastlines.
That would make for some awesome extreme surfing.

So, the value of BC is based only in the public perception without any production base behind.
On the plus side it does give the naysayers a practical lesson in what exactly backs a modern currency - a lot more than "the man" keeping you down.
Bigtime. And while we're about it, take a moment to savour the full flavour, implications and meaning of "illegal music".
Not in fashionable circles. :p

They are going to have some fun monetizing accounts from European users, due to stronger privacy laws.
That's pretty much it. This has to be one of the saddest stories I've ever heard.
I genuinely have no idea what you're talking about?

Ride it around lashing it with a switch of course. Ah the joys of inbreeding.
a) a good author doesn't imply a good speaker, quite the opposite, unlike musicians, and b) book signings aren't charged for, usually.
There are no more options for in-demand authors.
