so it seems apple has done it again and got this business model to work...all based around, i think, the sexy ipod.
as far as i'm concerned, I would never buy music this way and think that itunes is more hype than anything : i think its a bad player. especially for mp3 cds.
the reason i would not buy music this way, and am against buying music in general, is that the artist sees very little of the money you cough up...some ridiculously small percentage. the way artist make their money is at concerts, touring, selling their own merchandise. Thats why i always go for the buy the thing from the artist directly if you can approach.
got to say that this seems silly to me and don't think i would ever buy music this way : one song at a time...music should come in man sized packets...lots of it.
does seem they are getting a good deal but most definately Uk and europe will get shafted with.99 whatever prices...
gonna go watch the premiere now here in Spain... didn't think the second was as bad as everyone said, but it was worse than the first one...i'm expecting the third to be a barage of special effects and am going along for the ride......
Seems like a great channel for filmakers who would otherwise not get a chance, is being dismissed as crap outright - a sort of stiffle it from the start attitude. Its sending out a clear message that filmakers who post on the internet are somehow not worthy of the oscars.
What you suggest seems a kind of ridiculous loop hole - why not 'release' it in your basement theatre and then post on the internet. What counts as a release 'theatre'? Can it be your back room?
don't believe it for a minute...

pretty much most important thing here - you can only go as fast or as good as your manager - if he's a dick, better try working with someone else...
