The agreement is that they'll provide it for the next 24 hours. What you do with it after that is your business unless you're making it a business(reselling the viewing)
Exactly. You're not asking them to provide it via onDemand outside of the provided time window. You have a right to copy it and replay it as much as you wish as long as you're not reselling the viewing.
That would be a terrible application. I don't want to hear other's music. I want to hear the ocean and wind. When I need it, I have music in my head. Many times there's enough bad energy out there with all the attitudes; we don't need choice of music to add to all the tension that exists in most places.
Well, I've surfed quite a bit and I wouldn't want one for purposes of dealing with the boredom of waiting for the next set. I like the solitude. One thing I don't want to see is embedded music players in these things. I like the sounds of the ocean and wouldn't want to be subjected to listening to other's surf boom boxes. I do admit there are some cool things that can be done with this, though.
A great use for this would be to jam all the hidden cams in dressing rooms, bathrooms and locker rooms. I was considering building a pocket size jammer for my wife to use when using public bathrooms or trying on clothes a few years ago.
RainX doesn't make the water sheet, it makes it bead up into very small beads. This is why you barely need your wipers in a moderate to heavy rain. If it made it sheet, you wouldn't be able to see a thing.
Worst application for this...

You wouldn't want this on your car windows. It would have the opposite effect that RainX produces. Visibility during rain would be very bad.
I don't think so. IE was part of the OS. It could not be removed and still have a working OS. It had access to the OS that no other browser did and therefore the other browsers could not compete. The iApps that Apple is giving you are excellent apps but are not professional level apps. They have small learning curves and small feature sets compared to their competitors. Professionals will still want the other apps and the other apps will integrate with the OS as much as their developers/designers want them to. I don't think the iApps hurt the software market in any way; in fact, I think they'll help it. If I become comfortable with them, I'm more likely to outgrow their capabilities and I'll be more comfortable with shelling out the big bucks for the professional level apps.
iChat is an Apple GUI on AOL Instant Messenger...Can't be worth more than $10 - $20 bucks Sherlock 3 is Apple's absorption of the most excellent Watson...$30(includes lifetime updates) Quartz Extreme...I'd hardly call this an application from the user standpoint. This is Apple making up for opting for stability over performance in the pre-10.2 releases. This is a bug fix; I'm very happy for it, but it's still a bug fix.
It's completely appropriate to charge 130 bucks for this for anyone that didn't pay for the 10.1 release. I just spent $1999 on a new iMac 7 weeks ago. I called Apple to ask them what good my Software Coupons are and they told me they are there to remind me to upgrade now and then. Now I fondly remember when those coupons were there to get you the next release of the OS. So now, just two months after dropping a bundle, I have to shell out $130 just to keep up. There should be a reasonable upgrade price for owners of 10.1.
Umm...Apple has always made most of their money on hardware. They could practically give this OS away and still make money if we all show our windows friends how cool it is. I'm particularly bothered by the price of Jaguar because I just bought a brand-new machine 6 weeks before MacWorld and I have to pay full price for 10.2. I'm not upset that they came out with a newer machine with a bigger screen than mine or that they lowered the price on mine, but I've been a paying customer for Mac OS X since the beta. Besides, most of Jaguar is bug fixes anyway. Sure there are some new features, but how many of us have or will use a writing tablet. Don't get me wrong, I want it. But it's not worth another $130 on top of the $1999 I just spent on the machine. If I was a windows convert and just buying a Mac for the first time, I really be disappointed.
I used to agree that this is overkill. However, it's likely that there will be many people that would just want the theatrical release at a relatively low price and there will be others(myself included) that will want everything they can get and be willing to pay significantly more for it. I know view it as options. Albeit, it's a little annoying that you have to do some legwork to be informed about all your options before you buy anything now;-(
The new song made it look like Lando had no rhythm either. It was sickening.
...manipulates elections in ways they were never meant to be manipluated...
As opposed to manipulating elections the old-fashioned way? miscount, misreport, making it difficult for certain peoples from voting?

There are some interesting electronic shark repellents already on the market.

An e-Book could whack you in the head while trying to catch a wave.
Until they embed digital music players in them and we're all forced to listen to music rather than the sounds of the ocean;-(

I think all DVD players have the ability to pause;-)
Yes, this is true. I can't point you at anything directly, but my wife has read The Silmarrilion and told me some of the stories.

Maybe I'm the only one, but I like to read Cookbook style books even when I'm away from the computer.
Except that I can read it while on the train.
If given the chance, what 10 questions would you ask yourself?

I saw this demo'd at the NY Macworld and it looked pretty good...
...And low cost too!

Early on, Jackson stated that they may go back and do The Hobbit later, but they first wanted to make sure that the trilogy was done first.
Here Here!
Jackson is nothing like Lucas!
For one thing, Jackson is working with an excellent story and Lucas is making it up as he goes along.
