I got one of these letters too. It is an obvious lie. The battery is replaceable. The device has a button you can press to determine that the battery is fine. Illinois is the most crooked state I've ever experienced. Bad state. Stay away if you can.
Please don't get uppity and troll mark me. But it seems to me that it barely takes a second semester undergraduate physics knowledge and a laptop running a spreadsheet to prove that global warming is significant and real. The problem remains, it is impossible to prove how bad, if bad at all, it will be for humans. I like warm sunny beaches. move them around a few hundred yards here and there, no big deal. Put me out of a job, now that's a BIG deal. And we still chat forever about ice, well until its all gone at least.;-{
The battery/etc tech we have right now is cheaper than $8/gallon gas. Or to say it another way, if gas were priced at $8/gal people would want electric cars because they were cheaper, not just cooler. Ok, so here's a relatively obvious thing. Every year we get a better at making batteries/etc, so the cost of this goes down. The cost of gas keeps going up. Eventually these will cross. Eventually electric cars WILL be cheaper than gas. When that happens the majority of car buyers will buy electric. 2025, maybe. Who was predicting $4 gas five years ago?
It has been common for astronauts to pick out runways from space. LOTS of man made objects can be seen from space. Seeing someing 2 miles wide from 70 miles away is the same angle as seeing something 1/2" wide from 35" away. So, about the size of your thumbnail with your arm stretched out.
mySQL is open source. Facebook has so much money and time and design invested in its current db implementation. It seems to me the cheapest, and most straight forward thing to do, is just fix their issues in the mySQL base. How much could that cost? I'll bet less than 1% the cost of a db system change.
I went flying recently. I walked through the airport, remembering when I would arrive 35 minutes before my flight and made the flight easily. Now, two hours is pushing it. Oh, and of course, there is layer after layer of junk to deal with. I'm only going from one little U.S. city to another one on a mid-sized plane. The experience has convinced me, that the terrorists have won, and we have done most of the work for them. At my work I constantly preach/ask, is this cure worse than the disease? I'm lucky that the C-Level people at my job really get it. Apparently, they don't do that at the TSA.
10 Bars to keep the atmosphere from freezing out? How much visible light would get through that? Think Venus at 0 degrees C. I think the article needs a more doubtful title.
If Apple did the things its accused of in the article, I would thing it would be actionable. And the e reader company should expect to prevail. Apple seems to have abused its monopoly power, and acted fraudulently.
I expect this story may have more, and much-move interesting chapters.
First, wireless cities. Then, Low-Latency-High-Throughput Wireless cities and we could make the physical transportation of people for work mostly obsolete. While others are trying to achieve 186 miles per hour?! We'll be cruising at 186,000 miles per second.
I love and miss WP. Reveal codes was nice. The function keys were nice too. It was back in the day, where people went to a typing class before they dared trying to earn money at a keyboard. So, putting out a template where each one of the 10 function keys had 4 different actions depending upon which shift-alt-ctrl key you were holding down. Well that's just natural and obvious. Once you get your hands on the keyboard, Why you would not want to move them to grab a mouse?!?!?!? Good times, good times.
Sweet, every launch with even a few excess pounds of lift-capacity can acquire hundreds of little eye's in the sky. That actually would be a good idea for acquireing payment for every ounce of launch capacity you have.

Jupiter is 90% Hydrogen.
Mostly in a metallic form.

I was 'amused' by the 6th Sense more the 2nd Time I saw it. Although, mostly I was looking at all the ways he burned me and I didn't see it.

If I only had the mod points to + this one. lol.

In Russia, you don't watch TV, TV watches you!!!
If it snows, you still work. You work from home. We generally don't allow tele-commuting, the only real exception is snow.

No major infrastructure improvements lately?
Um. The internet. The at-home-broadband.
Things to do:
