If you're going to have crime then it's better to have it organized and out in the open. Easier to keep track of and keep from getting too out of hand.
This has to be one of the best use cases I've seen for wireless charging stations. Put one at every bus stop where it's practical. Just by sitting there, while letting people on and off or just waiting to get back on schedule, the bus can be recharging. Also, buses are long, so the density of power sent through the charging coils doesn't have to be as high as with a car.
If you asked them not to change the definition because "broadband" technically refers to how data is transferred (10gbit ethernet is not broadband, despite the speed, it is baseband) then ok, you can be cpt pedantic.
However this is just you lying. 4mbps is not "enough" for the modern Internet. Currently I find the breakpoint to be about 20mbps. That is the point after which normal users won't notice much, if any, improvement. As such, that is my baseline for recommendation to people. 10mbps is serviceable I guess, but is a pain for video streaming. 4mbps would be a real issue, even low bandwidth streams wouldn't work well.
The minimum needs to keep rising. We keep finding more to do with our net connections. These companies are just whiny because they don't want to have to roll out FTTH, they want to keep doing DSL and pretending like that works.
TFS mentions high quality video. You're not streaming high quality video with 10 or even 20Mbps.
I keep Slashdot on the whitelist to try to help support the site, but just today an ad auto-played. If advertisers don't knock it off, I'll sadly have to remove Slashdot from the list.
Slashdot is part of a big conglomerate these days. They're publicly traded which means their every thought must be about how to make more money for the shareholders. There's no need to feel guilty about blocking ads here. Do it, and be proud.
Our entire government seems to think the constitution can be superseded by any other law whatsoever, as if the constitution being the highest law of the land doesn't actually overrule anything that contradicts it. It's as if the constitution is completely meaningless.
Sigh.
Stop throwing the constitution in our faces, it's just a goddamned piece of paper.
They're already putting 2k displays on phones.. it's just a matter of time until they put 4k displays on phones and then there's no way a browser is going to download a lower resolution image for the device. The screen is 4k so just download the big picture....
Never mind that you can't see the difference unless you're extremely nearsighted and don't have your glasses on.
The first time when I saw the wheels I was wondering why the hell they spend so much money to send up a robot to Mars and then equip that thing with such flimsy wheels
And I did post question here on/, and there were people (NASA fanbois, perhaps) defending those flimsy wheels
Obviously the engineers designing the wheels had just come off a Livin' The Low Life marathon and felt inspired.
Oh no they don't destroy everything. They have tax records going back for a decade or more from both what you, your employer, and financial institutions reported and trust me they can pull these records out of the hat when it suits their purpose. (Such as when they decide to audit you.)
Do you want to go work somewhere and write Java programs for a living? Maybe you'd like to go write games or work on an office suite? Then learning high level languages like Java will serve you well. Do you want to write low level stuff and do "real" computer science? Maybe you want to develop a new high level language, or do hardware development or other significant development. If that's what you want to do, then you're right. High level Java and other languages should just be a footnote. Focus on Math, assembler, maybe some C/C++. Other low level work that provides a good foundation would also be wise.
Both of those are "Computer Science" disciplines in the modern sense. Obviously they are significantly different from each other in both required study and expected results.
It does sound kind of lame if you read the article. Fortunately for me, I'm a customer who read the offer and took it. You don't just get membership in yet another rewards program. Your internet service gets upgraded to symmetrical at no additional charge if you sign up.
I went from 150/65 to 150/150 instantly. It tests on speedtest.net as 152/164. I'd say that's a pretty solid "payment" for joining. Better than I have ever seen from any other rewards program.
Not unless Tesla can outspend the dealers lobby.
They do have a considerable budget to work with. Here's to hoping!

I'm sure John Gotti and a few others would agree.

I watched the video and I learned:
1. Today we have roads
2. In 1995 we had electronics
3. in 1985 we had pedophiles
4. in 1975 we had the waffle house.
In short; the world hasn't improved much since 1975.
Long time no see :)
(btw, I was watching Linux crash on a friend's PC the other day. Looks like it's still a PIECE OF SHIT)
You must be from IV, here to troll us in another way.
What is going on with slashdot lately? "Politically Correct" is a different type of PC.
A calculator became popular because of what it could do. It remained popular because of what it couldn't.
Sounds kind of like the Apple business model, really.
I still have the HP 48G I used in college. Now my son brings it to middle school and uses it to pick up chicks.

Low res is the new "thin".
Because you couldn't do this without yet another tag, right? Oh yeah.. I guess you could have done it with IMG.. oh well.
Excuse Mr. Horse, but what were your feelings about that fall?
well to be fair, im sure a civil case is going to happen. Its just sick. I wonder if there will be any riots over this one
Nah. It was wrong, but people generally don't riot over the death of a rich dude.
They should create an acid bucket challenge. Participants would get challenged to dump a bottle of hydrochloric acid on their heads or donate to NASA.

open source, with a community following ;
Why? So if you find one that fits every other requirement but this one you will refuse to use it?
Derp,
Probably because if there is no community following it there is not going to be much in the way of development going on.
Contract with them. They destroy everything.

Heh. "Second Leaker" is a little less damaging to the NSA than "Persistent, undetected back door access".

Are you sure it's not a modified limited hangout?

I guess Microsoft has nothing to fear in that case.

That's the list from AD&D "First Edition". Perhaps you're thinking of regular D&D or something else?
