    Final proof someone in the Russian military has a good sense of humour, they saw their nice ionosphere sounder and thought... "hm we could broadcast a code on this which means nothing... and watch the rest of the world (including our own sigint) spend decades trying to work out what it means"

    One day it will broadcast... "fooled you!" then go silent for the rest of time...

    (Either that or someone started the programme off and left a note saying do not turn off. Only problem was they forgot to put that they only meant do not turn off for a few days as a soak test)

    Think the problem with all these schemes is a lot of the countries where these schemes are aimed at are not the kind of countries that require beyond reasonable doubt before finding you guilty....

    But in future probably will turn out even more lucrative - rare earth metals are big $$$

    Though I really wouldn't worry about the Iranian drone till some concrete evidence of its flight capability and profile is released... so far it seems to be little more than a funny shaped missile.

    If the US Gov't seriously wanted to remove him I doubt they'd bother with faffing around like this.

    He'd maybe get run over by a drunk driver on a pedestrian crossing, or suffer a fatal heart attack with something nice that only shows up on a tox screen if you are really looking for it...

    Think the point is not that it is a game portraying two sides in a war, but that it is two sides in an on-going and current conflict....

    Personally don't give two hoots, whether the side I'm playing is taliban, communist, alien, whatever its my side and I'll play to win, at the end of the day in a game I forget the backstory and focus on the battle in hand.

    Don't recall calls for world in conflict to be banned because it showed a US commander dropping a nuke on an American town nuking his own battalion... nor for the apocalypse now sound track on one of the maps, strangely enough set in a rather 'nam like terrain...

    Why? The A-Team have to have the lowest kills to shots ratio of any SF group in the world. Even the ancient greeks managed to kill the same number of people with bullets as the A-Team (exactly 0).

    Now if it was a certain Navy chef guarding the venue that would be scary... or a detective who ends up in vest most of the time...

    In this instacne they do... does not help them to break these rules so they'll play by them.

    And apart from that its simple: =50% you do. So not exactly a hard rule (and a bit of work with HR, outsourcing/sub-contracting/contractors can help reduce you below 50% without doing any rule breaking; same as any tax - evasion of the tax would be illegal, avoidance isn't)

    As I said, personally I'll use Debian on desktops, UNR on netbooks, Debian on servers. Unless the bloke paying wants something different then if I can't make them see the light I'll take their choice ;)

    We do... but thats more down to customer pressure than personal choice (probably would use Debian by choice with custom kernel).

    Wrong. You do not buy the router (for the majority of isp provided kit) ergo you do not own the router. You lease the router as part of your bundle in most cases.

    Whatever happens I'm going to check out of here long before the PHA, and hopefully long before the PHB from hell turns up. (Got a few PHB's around but they're of the manageable kind - just listen, nod, say yes and then go back to doing what ever you had in mind before they decided to part some sage-like wisdom (only problme is the sage in this case is a small somewhat bedraggled herb rather than a wiseman))

    Not if I use a baby bomb, unless all the customers live on that particular atol (and then I'm screwed anyway with sea level rises).

    But if you are that concerned about the atol alternate green version here:

    1. Gather all f/oss and commerical etc evangelists together.

    2. Find large abandoned mine shaft.

    3. Drop the set from point 1 into said mine.

    4. Place concrete cap over mine.

    Alternate #2
    Place both groups in a room.
    Furnish room with various items (baseball bats, pool cues etc).
    Wait till the screamings stops.
    Pump CO into the room.
    Wait 30 mins.
    Vent room.
    Enter room and harvest body parts for use in your own Frankenstein Monstertm

    Two ways of looking at both stories:
    1. Pure propaganda and truth is way worse than the 'reality' they've shown...
    2. Pure propaganda and they're releasing this information now to go "oh look what we've just come up with" while being a couple of generations past this tech.

    Some needs to stop the genetic modifications of those scientists, while I agree 4 hands would be better than two most of the human race still (least last time I counted when sober) have only 10 fingers... 22" screen isn't really big enough to get two people poking at it comfortably so what's the use?
