Since intel is already hating on them for making a P4 chipset, and no mobo makers wanted to use it, VIA decided to make thier own motherboards, now this is just the next step why stop at making motherboards they are going to make the processors to go in them too.

What are these "MANY" improvements? What is the difference between a P4 Xeon and a P4?
What was the difference between a PIII Xeon and a PIII.
A whole lote more L2 cache is the only signifcant difference.
Clock for Clock a P4 cant compare to an Athlon, sure a Xeon will do better than a stock P4, but it wont beat out an Athlon significantly, and even if it does is it worth the price? Several Hundred dollars mores just for a slight edge.

So when you think of these dont think of them like the old Xeons which were just high end Pentium IIs and IIIs.
Back in PIII times, clock for clock PIII and Athlon were about equal, a Xeon being a high end PIII would beat out an Athlon at the same clock.
These Xeons are based on P4s, which clock for clock perform far worse than an Athlon. So these Xeons wont be anywhere near as powerful as an Athlon at the same clock speed.
Its just a laggier version of Day of Defeat with Flamethrowers and Panzerfausts.
The flamethrowers are the only good part about it, also unlike DoD you cant go prone so unless you are really behind something big you will still stick out more than you should.
WWIIOL as it stands right now is really ahead of AO in terms of how much they have done. WWIIOL is playable, it doesnt crash, framerates arent that bad anymore.
Besides I like the flying my ME109 away from one of my towns to see an armored colum go up a road to an enemy held town, its fun to watch the battle and its fun to get on down and strafe.
AO seems like it could be a good game but right now it sucks, it isnt playable. Well it is you can get in, but god help you if you try to zone, or if you go to a city or mission terminal where there are many people the frame rates good lord, how does anyone's system run that game at a decent frame rate and resolution?
Atleast in WWIIOL I get decent frame rates at a decent resolution, I dont get kept from zoning because "playshifting failed" because WWIIOL doesnt have any zones.
Atleast right now WWIIOL isnt charging for thier product except for the inital purchase price. The free month hasent even started for WWIIOL.
AO well they decided to start running that free month down so come.
That alone for me makes WWIIOL the superior game.

Well I doubt it will, but I would hope that this would inspire the current breed and future enginners to once again stirve to build the bad ass probes of old. While I'm no engineer I always appreciate machines and things that are build to last. Be it old cars that still run fine today, to die cast toys which are still in good condiation 20 years later, while the plastic ones break in only 2 years or so.
Yep its owned by DeBeers. Personally me being a good capitalist, I hate bullshit like that, also me being an Nationalist, Imperialist type I hate them even more because they are arent an American Company. So when I get married and what not, I will get the most bad ass American made Synthetic Diamond. Face it a Diamond is a diamond, dont matter how its made, or where it comes from as long as it looks good and does it job. Fuck those Debeers bastards.
In a way I would concure with this man. Microsoft isnt the govt, and they dont have a right to audit you. Sure they could sue you but that is a different matter. So let them sue.
well the reason we dont need it isnt the reason its not being made. Sure when they come out with new chips they could usually just skip the incrimental steps 750mhz 850mhz whatever. The reason they fill them in and stretch out time before releases is just to make as much money as possible. Nothing else.
I agree with the other poster. I dont really believe in boycotts. I pretty much think they are silly. That being said I like to think I'm a pretty ardent capitalist, and it to work properly people need to find the best value for thier buck and cleary the Pentium 4 isnt it. The PIV has 3 strikes against it, its expensive, it doesnt really outperform the Tbird and when it does its not by much, and it uses the ridiculously expensive crackhead ram known as RAMBUS. Personally I think Intel should have aborted the PIV like they did the system on a chip thing and concentrated on improving the PIII which they are, but seriously the PIV is a big waste of resources.
If only Microsoft would harden its Intellimouse Explorer using metal, and would fix the defect where the wires in the cord break when its tugged on, then that would be bad ass.
Yep, thats it. I wouldnt care if I was cloned because well I would be dead, but if someone I knew died I might have them cloned to have them around. So its all kind of weird like that. I always wondered if in the future we could transfer our minds into robots or whatnot, but I've always thought of that problem, why would I want a copy of me to go on, if its not me and I would still live and die and whatever. Cmon I want to live forever not some copy. When I was watching the movie I always though, it would be pretty cool to wake up and find out that your the clone and that your alive and it wasnt you that died. I was thinking about the time where the guy got his leg blow off, I would be pretty pissed that I would have to kill myself just to be cloned and redone with a full body.
Personally I wouldnt mind having myself cloned like that to live forever. The one thing that would keep me from doing that is, well why would I want a copy of myself to live on, even if it did have all my thoughts and whatnot. I dont want a copy of my conscousness to live on, I want to live on. Either way to myself when I die, I die, even if a copy lives to run around. Now if they could somehow transfer my consciouness/brain so that I wouldnt actually die, well that would be a different story.
No way, Intergrated graphics always suck compared to the state of the art AGP slot 3d cards. Why would you want a crappy intergrated graphics on a high end DDRSDRAM mobo?
HELL YEah I'm happy with my Duron 700@800, its a great chip for the price and runs all my programs/games fine. If all goes well and I save enough money, my next system hopefully in January/February, will be Dual 1.5GHz Tbirds, a good mobo based on the AMD760MP chipset, and 512MB of DDRSDRAM. Time to buy AMD stock people, thier earnings report comes out next Wednesday the 11th. While Intel will not meet earnings AMD will beat them.
WTF, before you know it they are going to start suing people who even have an idea for a new form of memory. "what you are going to develop a new form of ram, nope sorry you are going to owe us royalties on it, we have already patented the concept of computer memory."
So, the US does a bit fewer of those and seems to be doing them for the most part alright. I guess it evens up since we really dont have the look out for the rest of the world as our primary focus.
Actually, thats exactly right, thats why so many nations dislike us for imposing democracy on them. Oh well, se la vi. Either way, life is good for me here in Corpus Christi, Tx.
That is why we are doing this, its still going on, and sooner or later we will find something or just contiune to search for life or planets that we can use.

yeah if we only had a whole bunch of unemployed .com people lying around. Hey wait we do, maybe we can make a beowulf cluster of them.
Well I kinda hope those communists get a manned orbit, then maybe we will have some competition again to get our asses in gear.
I'm hoping that the Military will atleast get its act together and militarize space properly. We need obiting battlecrusiers. :)

In what ways is the Tbird lacking in performance? It beats the PIII or atleast equals it in most areas, and has a bad ass price to performance ratio.
By the way the people who would boycott this are those that would least need to, we would be the people educated enough to know not to buy it.
