Cruel evolution I can live with, because it wouldn't work otherwise. A cruel Creator, I cannot live with. A creator that will kill you for disobedience, I don't care for, you can have it all to yourself.
God, I like FreeBSD (maybe even a bit more than I like Linux, in fact), and I use it in both my gateway and my laptop, but looking at some of its supporters, maybe they should rename it FreeBSE and be done with it...
I really expected better from the user base than a bad case of Linux Envy...
You may be amused to find out the makers of Microsoft Bob moved on to make Half-Life...
I got into a flamewar with some of them regarding their dropping of the console from the main interface. They made it a command line option, but at least, they didn't penalize players who wanted a console (as was the initial plan). Not that I'm claiming credit for their change of heart...:)
Actually, given the relative size of the sun as seen from Jupiter, it was probably a more than total eclipse. The Earth is the only planet for which the relative sizes of moon and Sun are identical, but you can bet anything than from, say, Pluto, the relative size of Charon is much bigger than the relative size of the Sun...
Nah... The book has too many bloody unlikely coincidences (an abandoned library? An abandoned tinkerer cart? Yeah right), and Mrs. Frisby is too, well, mousey, sitting around waiting to be rescued.
The movie has got the questionable magic stuff, but Brisby kicks more ass in there than in the book.
Good user interfaces can improve productivity. The Windows user interface is just about the most useless I've seen in my life. The SGI UI is the best I've used so far, followed by the Mac. KDE suffers from trying to look like Windows.
I don't know what experience you have on UNIX boxen, but I've used both UNIX workstations and NT workstations, and I can tell you you are full of shit. NT is a productivity destroyer, as the Windows interface just isn't designed to get work done. It may have been designed not to scare Joe Blow, with the dancing paperclips and the flying sheets of paper, but it certainly hasn't been designed to let people do what they want to do.
Hell, even the bloody Macintosh is better in that respect, because at least it has a good graphical interface. Windows is just an ugly, unholy mess built on top of an unstable kernel.

Yes. So?
Well, it does follow the OSS tradition of Recursive Acronyms... I'd go for it...
It wasn't a question... :)
Dude, you may want to debug your signature...
What exactly do you mean by "one step ahead of Id Software"? Id games come to Linux fast, look good, and eventually we get source code...
It's not KIMP, it's GINP (GINP Is Not Photoshop)...
What do you mean pseudoparanoid? Why is a reality wall any worse than a TV?
I would like to see linux-like portability and ease of use with SGI's outstanding cases...
And who was the best thing about Star Wars anyway...

They seem to come from UUnet... Is that the NSA's backbone?
Cool.
Yeah, well, but that probably means that anything cool that Nvidia (and I do own a TNT2) does SGI was doing already ten years ago.
The one thing Nvidia is bringing to the arena is lower prices...

It was also made into what's arguably the greatest American animated film...
I liked the movie even better than the book...
SGI will not be on the road to recovery until they dump the evil, stupid new logo.
The new logo is just Belluzzo's way to add insult to injury after his evil tenure at SGI, before crawling back to whence he spawned, Microsoft.
The two most important applications for a desktop computer today are games and games, and then a browser...
Well, I'm Rational, and I agree with you.
Screw Windows.

Cool, Astroturf has reached Slashdot...

M$ lies, m$ cheats and m$ steals I can live with. It' the way how M$ sucks that kills me.
