Hmm that would be kind of hard to be running to architectures.. Would be interesting to see how they do that.. But if Sony wanted to make some real ca$h on this chip, they would bring up the interger rate up a bit and sell the chip off for video workstations/supercomputers. I think the most I saw on a FPU rate was like 1.4-1.8 gflop on fpu. But also they could make alot of cash on the video board also. The specs look nice on that.. I saw something like 1024 bit reading/writing and 512bit something or other.. But if Sony wanted to make the Viao graphic station kick ass they would adopt the Emotion engine and convert linux or something to it. Which would be kick ass IMO. MIPS style subset IV... Could convert linux onto it. 233 is ok.. But if you put in a nice cluser, since psx2 will have 2 diffrent chips on it, the emotion and the psx1 chip (32 bit on it) I think you could make one hell of a server out of it.. But what do most cluster do? Mostly FPU intense app running.. Which would be great for Graphics, would beat the hell of what sgi has, seti@home..... Need I say more!! I had a 166+.. My could of cooked a stake in 5 minutes.. And plus, you would think 166+ sounds kick ass.. But it was only 133 and could not over clock it.. Now I have a WinChip 240 that replace, it's ok.. But I can't wait till July.. I will have enough money to build a nice system..
