The bounty will be paid in your paypal account (if you do not have one, you will have to create one), and then paypal will freeze your account without any explanation or appeal process:)
Yes. The kids' gaming computer goes in the living room. And not only for monitoring what they do, but because at that age you don't want them up all night playing Minecraft either. Which is guaranteed to happen if they have a computer in their room. From personal experience, i didn't have trouble with my kid with naughty sites, but i did have to password protect a laptop because i caught her playing age appropriate games at 2 am in her bed on a school-tomorrow night.
Nvidia cards are the only way to reliable game on Linux, either natively or through wine. Look at the winehq.org appdb for any game, then notice how most reported problems are on Ati video cards. Case closed, unfortunately. I have no experience with arm nvidia graphics drivers though.
Yup. Create a replacement launcher (it's just a matter of a line in AndroidManifest.xml) and for good measure root the device and delete the default one:)
Don't they have victims of real wars to take care of? Whoever is spending donation money on this idea should be the one going on trial for war crimes...
I bet that playing on a laptop, you'll get better battery life playing a native version of an Unreal engine 3 game than when playing the flash version of the same game:)
For my private webmail that only I use (read: general purpose internal use thingies), a self signed - and expired - certificate is as good as one signed by some incompetent CA. And much cheaper. It has been sufficiently demonstrated that the current certificate authorities aren't worthy of much trust. Just like the USPTO:)
I was tempted to get the rumored 'cheap' iPhone if it surfaces in autumn... looks like i'll have to buy a HTC one instead when my current (Android) phone dies.
iOS has much better overall polish, but if they want to compete on lawyers instead of features, i'll vote with my wallet - for the underdog.
Umm so is there anyone that gets good performance out of the emulator running Honeycomb? It runs well using the older devices, it's just the tablet version that's the problem.
Did you notice? All he cares about is multiplayer FPS crap. If you want an enjoyable single player experience (which is hard to find as it is), go shop somewhere else.
I don't know... i only buy CDs once in a while. However I know Steam and GOG.com (the only stores where i buy stuff online) have unlimited redownloads and i still don't understand why a music store doesn't have...
What do you mean, unlimited music downloads? You mean until now the tracks that you bought weren't available indefinitely? Now i know why i never even looked at the iTunes store...
Aye aye. I couldn't even finish the first level of Far Cry... pretty water a game does not make. Wake me up when the crysis 2 licensees make something.
It's simple. When New Vegas was launched i bought Fallout 3 Game of the Year edition with all the DLC and patched, and cheaper than the launch price for just Fallout 3. 2 years from now i'll buy New Vegas with all the DLC and patched, and cheaper than the launch price for just New Vegas. End of story.
Besides the obvious jokes about Microsoft and security, the very serious question is what patents of theirs you could infringe by following their process and when they will sue you for it?
Everyone's worried by apple and google and microsoft, but do you notice Foxconn is manufacturing them all? :)
By Clarke (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Nine_Billion_Names_of_God), humanity will now be retired and replaced with a different experiment.

Soon we'll be able to run java on our desktops - only requirement is an Oracle support contract for the low, low price of 250K$/desktop/year?

You said that. What i said is 'I have no idea how you emmigrate out of the US - i've never even been to the US'.
Well, i'm afraid I was born there and i'm not related in any shape of form with anyone living in the US. Slashdot is a global site you know...
I'm in Europe :)

Where are my mod points when i need them :(
Yes, it's not removed from Ubuntu, just from the default CD image. /. should edit the text of the front page article too...
Aye aye!
Please leave firefox constrained to only one CPU core so i have the other cores left for useful work!
