Most companies that are touting a "way cool design" are just accenting beige with another color. Big deal! What if I don't want any beige on my machine!
Even if you don't like the design, you have to give credit to companies like Apple, Sony, and Acer (just a few off the top of my head) for trying something new.
Mpeg and QUICKTIME I hope. Stuff like this (and the Star Wars trailer) should be in as many formats as possible. QuickTime and mpeg are good portable formats that can reach many users.
Hope somebody converts this to an mpeg file like they did with the Star Wars trailer. --
It seems a little slower to me too. Maybe it's just everyone in the world trying to customize their preferences at once. Perhaps the problem will lessen? --
It's amazing how pissed off people get over one little.mov file. But this is Star Wars we're talking here.
I'm sure Apple offered Lucas large sums of cash to release the trailer in QT format only. It's a marketing deal. And who knows marketing better than Lucas (Steve Jobs is getting up there too). Lucas knows how big Star Wars is. He knew everyone on the planet would mirror the thing. He knew people would convert it into whatever format they wanted. Thus, Lucas got the cash and the exposure. Not to mention a huge ad and mirror on apple's web site. Not to shabby. -- --
I'm huge fan of QuickTime, however, the Sorenson codec requires quite a bit of CPU also. QuickTime 3.0 on the mac supports software mpeg playback though =)
The animation was beautiful, but the story?! I didn't find it funny or even clever. Guess I missed the point... if there was one. Oh well.

Can anyone say that they'd really want that stupid pengiun box? If I had that box, I'd have to reach over and smack it every once in a while...
...well, that might actually be kinda fun...
...hmm.

If you don't like ivory, I see that BRONZE is available. Truly a plethora o' colors.
I think I can hear Steve Jobs laughing.

As for the "dolt" thing, your on your own.

My 604e 233mhz runs the large movie just fine.

PSX2 demo mpegs at this mirror too.

The Sorenson Codec is amazing when used correctly. However, it probably needs a screaming machine to play it back at the full 30fps.
I'm trying to convert it to a cinepak compressed movie, so someone with QT2.x could view it, but I have a feeling it's going to huge.
You thought 25MB was big!?

Here's another place to get the full large version.

Apple has a mirror of the Star Wars Trailer posted at

Seems to be pretty quick...right now.
