Because you take up more space, and you cost more. There should be a height limit and weight limit, this addresses both your problem. This is not discrimination, this is for your own good in fact. Cramming you in smaller seats will be a problem for you, and people in front of you. These seats are obviously designed for a certain heights, making it explicit is a good thing for everyone involved.
What next, complaining that the local store doesnt care tall sized clothes and tall clothes are expensive?
Devices that can do raw videos are quite expensive. If you want a simple/cheap solution, Apple ProRes is a quite good intermediary format. I would recommend just recording to ProRes, using a noise/grain filters/editing it, and finally converting to H.264.
Let me just add one more thing. Treaties that are not backed by military support from other countries are useless. Ukraine's agreement falls under this. The treaty could still be useful to Ukraine, who knows NATO might help Ukraine with it, and go on war with Russia. It is still too early to see how Ukraine invasion turns out.
Jesus: Russia signed a treaty to not invade Ukraine, in exchange for Ukraine's nuclear disarmament. Ukraine disarmed. First nation to do so in the history of nuclear weapons. Then Russia invaded. You want to trust them with another treaty? Suckers!
Well, Russia already has enough test data to just rely just on computer modeling and simulations to develop one. Just like the US. The point is not to impose the treaty on the stronger nations, but the developing and weaker ones. Iran, NK, and the likes. You get to bomb Iran for breaking the treaty (if they signup for it). This is how treaties work, whether you like it or not.
Ukraine made a really bad deal, I agree on that. US was stupid to force/encourage Ukraine to give up its nuclear weapons too. That doesnt mean all treaties are bad ideas and will be broken.
From TFA, "Such tests are easily observable from space and via radar and signals intelligence gathering (not to mention old-fashioned human spying)." The proposed ban is on testing hypersonic missiles. You can develop them all you want, just cannot test them (testing of which is easily observable). This is not something you can cheat.
Nope, it actually just requires your skype (or Tox) name. If you dont like your IP to be exposed, I am sure you will understand the concerns about tox/skype exposing IPs.
On slashdot, your IP doesnt get exposed to everyone, silly. It only gets exposed to slashdot (and routers in between if you are not using SSL). Finding your IP (and hence your location), by just your name viperidaenz, is a little bit worrying and a valid concern. If you dont find it worrying, you should start signing each of your slashdot posts with your current IP.
Well, it is easier for me to pay them, than find other means. I would rather pay them. I do honestly think they are providing a good service. I can have VLC adblock their ads, but their premium service also has higher quality streams. (I am assuming we are still talking about di.fm/sky.fm)
Thats how XM radio started, you pay a low price for ad free music, then after several years more and more channels started playing ads and prices went up.
Counter anecdote is di.fm/sky.fm. Prices have gone up, but not significantly. No ads after several years,
I would rather pay than listen to ads. I already pay a subscription to di.fm/sky.fm. I use them a lot and subscription gets me better quality and no ads. I would even get hulu plus if they were ad free.
What the hell? I have used this, the wifi access point identifies as XFINITY, you have to login using your comcast account, and the IP you end up using is an IP block dedicated to XFINITY (which clearly identifies in every possible way (rdns, whois) as an XFINITY IP). You dont even share the IP with the host (who gets the usual Comcast IP). There is no way the host would get busted for it. Please stop the FUD.
Similarly, putting out the modicum of effort to perform basic security like SSL is a signal that the website is reputable. I mean, if you can't be bothered to buy a $50 SSL certificate and install it, are you *really* trustworthy?
If you are relying on an SSL certificate to determine the trustworthiness of a site, you are doing it wrong. SSL certificates are cheap, and provide no additional trust worthiness to the site (unless they are an ecommerce site, which is a small part of the web). I would prefer sites that accept a username and password to use SSL, but I am okay with them not having it too. I would be a little bit worried about my password leaking when I am a public wifi. So those sites get a random password and a throw away email. I dont gauge the site's trustworthiness by this though (slashdot is a good example of this).
The funny thing is, both en pages were about to be deleted for lack of notoriety. Now will the all the media coverage, they have suddenly become notable, and my bet is both articles will be retained. Streisand effect at it's finest.
Social media helps keep you in a nice little bubble, where you're never exposed to information you might not like.
Same with slashdot, and most news sites. People find themselves in a bubble one way or other, unless they specifically go looking for other information
The pilot can use these data link communication channels to make his/her life easier.
CPDLC is a separate system, it does not depend on the satellite link. The one compromised is the satellite infotainment system. They are not connected. Fly-by-wire avionics are of course isolated (for regulatory reasons).
Yes, hundreds of people 'deserve' to die. It certainly not the person doing the attacks fault at all. Idiot.
How does pwning the infotainment system lead to death. People might become bored to death, but I cant imagine anything else happening.
The crew can simply turn off the infotainment system, and go on with their work. There is a reason the infotainment system is not relied on, and attendants still use verbal instructions for everything (including the initial safety spiel)
do you HAVE to stream entire movies and music to it?
I dont have to, but I want to. Why do think I signed up for their unlimited plan. If I were only using 5GB a month, I would switch to republic wireless instead.
why not copy stuff to its storage and maybe save some wireless bandwidth?
Because I dont have the space, and I am instead paying for unlimited data.
I never said what Palestine is doing understandable based on the cost argument.
I dont have a side in this war, I find both of them equally deplorable. However the economics of a tool used, and how the other side can react to a tool, can be discussed freely, without taking a side. My point was the iron shield which was specifically build to stop rockets from Palestinian territory. The flaw is it is too expensive compared to rocket is takes down. Building rocket or purchasing good rockets is not that expensive. A few weeks of bootcamp is all is required to train soldiers on rockets (with iran and saudi backing, it costs peanuts to train them, and get better rocket tech)
Hundreds is a small number, I am sure there are hundreds willing and capable of doing this. Hundreds work for the DHS, probably not, but you only one of them working and having access in the DHS
The problem is it is not sustainable. Each intercept missile cost $60,000, a rocket launched by hamas costs $800. Hamas can DDoS the hell of out Israel. All they need is decently trained soldiers and decent supply of rockets.

With SSL, they only have source and destination IP, not your username. So association between username and IP is not possible.

If you torrent you do. You should plan to keep routers for 2 years. I am quite certain comcast will increase the speed or you might even get gigabit.

How many people think the openssl bug was maliciously inserted?

Do they drive electric cars, and use more electricity as a result. Electricity use is a rather misleading metric.
