The taxi services were enjoying the monopoly and have a share of the blame too. It is not as if they were trying to fight the medallion system. I personally cant wait for the medallion system to collapse, or prices to plummet.

Not GP, but I dont think I would have noticed it either. I dont have TV and I never noticed it online, until there were a lot of articles on Slashdot about how high the piracy rate was, and how awesome the show was. The show was well into the second season, by the time I noticed it. So I really dont think I would have ever noticed it, if not for the high piracy.

Er, I am totally in favor of swapping batteries. I have 4 extra batteries for my phone (it is great for backpacking). The link I posted is for a tool to charge these batteries without having to use you phone (which can do only one a time (atleast mine can do only one at a time)). I put a battery in it and it will charge it for me.

What? There are plenty of such external chargers available. Did the OP even looked it up. This is the one I have http://www.ebay.com/sch/items/?_nkw=3G+multi-purpose+battery+chargers . It chargers slowly (about twice the time my phone takes to charge to 100%), but there are better models available.

Seriously? OP has not heard of spare batteries or standalone chargers? You can find one for any phone, with an stand alone battery charger for 10 bucks on ebay or aliexpress. The standalone battery charger that comes with these works with ANY battery (well any rectangular shaped three port battery, that is the standard for smartphones). Did OP even look at ebay before concluding the lack of standalone chargers?

Wait, I take that back. The private key is indeed stored on the server. So the only thing it, sort of, prevents is mass analysis of data (assuming they dont pull data analysis on the client side)

  21. Re:Security hole 1, Kim Dotcom on Kim Dotcom's Mega Fileshare Service Riddled With Security Holes · · Score: 1

However, the claim is completely broken. Mega is using a public/private key pair - generated by the web site - and so their servers actually *do* know both your keys, and *can* decrypt your data. So, basically, it is no more secure than dropbox.

Wrong. It is generated on the client side. Just because the web site generates it, doesnt mean the server has to know about it.

You are right about Mega being able to find the keys though. If they want to target you, they could modify the JS only for you and make the keys available to them. If you dont expect to be targetted for new uploads, it is indeed better than dropbox.
