    not sure about your time, but the 90 minutes i allow myself for "entertainment and leisure" everyday is too valuable for commercials to me.

    problem is typically there is only one provider offering this, cable, utilities have been sitting on their asses enjoying govt subsidies at 4 mb/download without working to improve the speed. there is no competition in US, the home of the free market.

    i agree, if it looks like a turd, smells like a turd... you don't need to do the taste test to call it a rose.

    I don't really blame the ones in charge of going beyond the bounds. It is human nature to control, and when you have a semblance of control the brain works to tighten that grip even more, squeezing those in your grip into tighter and tighter control... until it all falls apart.
    We should be coming up with contingency plans for when history repeats it self.

    hey it takes a lot of effort to hide that money, thats hard work that the lazy germans and japanese are not willing to put in.
    will no one think of the children that have to pay inheritance tax.

    "you are at least in the top half" but no where close to being rich.
    "The income threshold for the top quintile, who many people consider "rich", is $102k" source please. the rich everyone is talking about are the 1%ers... thats about 394K annual individually or assets about 1.5 mil. (forbes) but most of these people are the hard working professionals.

    the rich that are "intended" as a target when politically motivated chattering is concerned are the super rich, earning above a million dollar a year. but these are just low level super rich compared to those that "earn" over hundreds of million a year.

    the Davos crowd is worried about those low level 1%ers because they havn't been marginalized by the system like the surf class. no one is worried about mid-low income rules are in place to keep them down. the revolution starts at the 1% against the .01%

    and now i am off the soap box.

    also the debate about broadband is not really about end user speed but govt subsidies these vendors have been enjoying for decades without making things better.
    the taxpayers already paid for a better internet.

    in one game wasteland2 4k native is too small for me/my eyes so i stick with 2560
    the other game StarCitizen 4k looks beautiful but game is in dev, needs optimization and even then i will need a second 980gtx and maybe a third because the game can use what you throw at it.

    "choosing to game at 256" the screen size comes into play. i would play 4k with maybe a 32+ inch screen but then it may be too close for a desktop experience. I output to a 4k projector if I truly need color corrected picture quality, plus my old eyes really appreciate the beauty of high res but at a much bigger screen.
