My favorite is the packaging that's supposed to be a direct, slavish copy:... How the fuck is that copying or misleading?
Here is a good reference for Samsung products before and after Apple's products. Go forward to packaging. Notice how it used to be the standard cluttered packaging, now a lot like Apple's.
Hell, the judge held up a Galaxy Tab and an iPad in court and Samsung's own lawyers couldn't easily tell the difference. That's kinda proof right there.
Not functional patents. The basic issue is Samsung's blatant copying of Apple, and in doing so Samsung tripped over some of Apple's design patents.
Look at this image to get a good idea of the extent that Samsung has been riding Apple's coattails where the iPad is concerned. It paints a larger picture of willful copying that Apple can use to bolster the court case over the design patents.
Mine technically supports 2.3 if I wanted to root and load my own OS, but the manufacturer/carrier only went to 2.1. It's the manufacturers and carriers: They sold you the phone, they don't give a damn about you anymore. Wait until the next upgrade cycle so they can sell you a new phone. At least Apple supports phones with the latest version for at least two years after release.
And by the way, Android has already overtaken IOS.
And the only relevance that has is for developer support, which is irrelevant since both platforms have easily surpassed critical mass. Also, your statement isn't just restricted to phones. You have to include all iOS devices: phones, tablets and the iPod Touch (and possibly Apple TV, although you don't get the App Store for that). This pushes iOS much higher than Android.
If you want to talk only smartphones, then Apple is outselling them all.
The more satellites in view, the better the fix. The military actually redirects our satellites so more are available over areas where accuracy is needed, such as war zones.
It's like them being able to stand at the post office and read the exposed front of the envelopes containing your mail. It doesn't require a search warrant.
I can name several famous designers for cars: Harley Earl (Corvette), Julian Thompson (Lotus) Joe Oros (original Mustang), Giacinto Ghia (many), Andrea Pininfarina (many), and Giorgetto Giugiaro (many).
Car companies cared about design, and the designers became famous. Electronics companies usually don't care about design, so anybody they have working in their tiny, under-funded design departments isn't going to become famous.
Everything was fine with the people who did the original deal. New managment came in and thought they could squeeze some money out of Apple since Xerox wasn't itself able to monetize the concepts very well.
The wife makes menudo, but somewhere in cooking he pulls some out and spices it to his liking. Seriously, don't even get close to the bowl. It's hotter than any Indian food I've had.
The intelligence services of a few countries have found ties between Huawei and the Chinese military and intelligence services. Currently, the Chinese are the biggest spy threat to the US. Not allowing this company to build our communications infrastructure sounds like a reasonable, safe decision.
Just start voice search and say "Navigate to McDonalds" and it will launch your navigation app and plot a course to McDonalds for you.
How about something like "I could go for a burger right now" and get a list of local burger joints?
I'm sure you can ask Android "Will it rain today?" and get the weather app. Can you say "Do I need an umbrella?" and get an appropriate response?
How about something like "I'd like to wake up at 8 tomorrow." and have an alarm set. What do you need in Android? I'm betting specific words like "Set alarm 8 a.m. tomorrow name wakeup call." With Siri I bet if you later tell it to make an appointment for 7:30 it'll remind you that the time precedes your wakeup call, and offer to reschedule either (having recognized that "wakeup call" means the beginning of your day, not just making a generic alarm called "wakeup call").
That's the whole point, natural language, context. No need to learn command words or always specify context, just tell it what you want as if you had a live personal assistant. It's not going to be perfect, but it's going to be a lot better than regular voice command systems.
China, Cuba, Laos, North Korea, Vietnam, USSR + satellites, Cambodia, etc. All were economic basket cases, except where capitalism existed underneath the communist system in order to prop up an economy. China is a perfect example, and Vietnam was a basket case until they started allowing private enterprise. Even the USSR was propped-up by a quasi-capitalist system of trading between factories.
Given history, the next person who says "We'll get communism right THIS TIME" and actually tries will have a minimum body count of ten million.
Samsung is copying as much as possible to ride on Apple's coattails.
I notice the Prada's interface isn't shown.
I wonder why...
I also notice a back view is missing.
I wonder why...
I wonder why comparisons of Samsung's earlier digital photo frame only show the front of the frame.
No I don't, because from any view other than straight on it looks completely different from an iPad.

Anybody who says just "rectangle with round corners" shows they don't know the case.
Nothing about copyright law.
But the Greens do support "hate speech" laws, which would reasonably fall under this ruling. You could link to "hate speech" but not post it yourself.

He basically admitted to violating Apple patents with current products.
And for competition, for now Samsung has learned to avoid copying Apple in design. Now maybe they can do something original.
Meanwhile, Samsung is trying to submarine the standardization process with its patents, and the courts aren't buying it.

Get the value back up, you know.
They'll give nothing up without a warrant, and will notify me if not gagged.
As in who you call and when with a telephone.

When it's finished, EMC will be suing Dell over technology in the Equallogic series of storage devices.

Welcome to OnStar, can I help the police violate your rights today?
So far we know it understands the 42 joke.
I just saw in the news that in response to "Open the pod bay doors" it will say "Sorry [name], I'm afraid I can't do that."
What else is in there?
We're humans, not ants.

Say "I'm hungry" and it'll probably list nearby restaurants and give you directions to the one you select.
Say "I'm hungry for Thai" and it'll probably suggest nearby Thai restaurants, or maybe book you a flight to Thailand with a sex tourist package.
But they're not Woz bills.
$2 bills, purchased in sheets, bound into a book and perforated so he can tear off as tips.
If he pays me in $2 bills.
